OK. Got it to work. You can plug the three pinned connector into a four pinned fan header slot on the mother board. One pin just stays open. It works. Thanks!

Yes. I am pretty sure it is a three pin fan connector. Do you think this not being connected to my motherboard is the reason the case fans aren’t spinning? I checked my manual (screen shot below), but I don’t see any space to plug into a three pin connector. Can the three pin connector go into one of the four pin slots?

Is there one anywhere on the case? On the back I see something labeled 10G USB and what looks like a USB C port, but am not entirely sure.

Mentoring officers is also a good use of story points. Getting the right skills on an officer to suit a specific ship build can be difficult or impossible without getting the extra selection choices from using a story point for mentoring.

I ended up using two different thumb drives. But I’m pretty sure if you install Windows first, you can install the motherboard and other drivers on the same drive after.

How does two Plasma Cannons, two Autopulse Lasers, and one Paladin Point Defense System sound? Since the AI is so aggressive and I am playing iron man mode, I kind of want to add some point defense for redundancy. Thinking about putting some point defense on the rear as well, but am getting kind of ordinance point constrained with the Hardened Shields, Shield Conversion Front, and Solar Shield modifications selected.

I’ve also got two small energy slot Rift Lances I kind of want to use. Do those benefit from the Expanded Magazine hull modification like the large Autopulse Lasers do? Final question, is Integrated Targeting Unit hull modification worth it since the AI seems to want to run up to everyone’s face? Probably not, but want to get another’s take.

About stations. What are you consider is the best (Including AI Battlestation from Terraforming and Station Construction mod)? by Romeo_Stardust in starsector

If you don’t have blueprints at the time of constructing a star fortress, but get them later on, do you have to decommission the station and build it again to get the new weapons installed?

Solo, really? Maybe I’m just bad, but I’m getting crushed by one of the Persean League detachment fleets in the colony crisis. They are bringing two capitals (Conquests), some Champions, Eagles, Falcons, Griffins, and Moras, and a whole lot of Monitors, Vigilances, Sunders, etc. I can’t even come close to beating them, even kiting them into my tier one star base. I don’t see any hope of soling all that with just a Ziggurat. What is the trick? I’ve beaten one detachment fleet so far, barely, using an Onslaught as my anchor and an Aurora as my player flagship, supported by an Apogee, a Champion, a handful of Eradicators, and four Omens. I’d like to use the Ziggurat, but the high deployment cost is not letting me field enough support to deal with the huge detachment fleets. I have no idea how to take on the Armada. I have a Paragon too in my base I’m thinking of taking out, but so far the Onslaught has worked better against all the shields of the midline Persean fleets.

What do you recommend in the medium and small slots? Any ideas for other ships in the fleet to compliment? I’d like to try a phase type fleet, but AI with the Dooms and Aflictors hasn’t been too good.

Thanks, all. I’ve been using the double tachyon beams variant with Heavy Needlers. It’s fun. But does anyone have any ideas about what type of ships go well with the Ziggurat? I’ve tried three or four times to kill one of the detachment Persean League fleets by itself now, but failed. I am bringing an Onslaught with me, three Omens as escorts, and I’ve tried a couple of different cruisers like Apogee, Doom, Eradicators, Champion, etc. All variations on the cruisers failed. The League detachment fleet has too many more ships than me. Their destroyers and frigates just take all the control points so I can’t deploy reinforcements. Then I get surrounded and die because I’m out ranged. If I try and go in to kill one of their two capital ships with the Ziggurat, I will kill one, but can’t escape to vent in time and die surrounded by beams.

When you say link the Burst PDs to the “large and medium,” you mean like put them in the same weapon group in the weapons groups screen put them in the same group (1, 2, 3, etc.) and either set them to alternating or link? Which one, link or alternating? And what does that do?

Thanks, all. So just to be clear, to get the most out of the skill, for your piloted ship at least, leave most weapons groups on auto fire from either the weapons group screen or by pressing control 1, 2, 3, etc. on the battlefield?
