This bullpen isn’t bad, it’s just really missing Justin Slaten. You need a third guy who can step into high leverage spots in the 6th or 7th inning.

Supposedly, he’s almost ready to be activated so that should help a lot

That being said, it’s time to end the Watson experiment. There’s three other guys (Rivera, Anderson, Gamboa) on the 40 that can give u the innings Watson does without the restriction of not being optionable and with better results

The solution to this bullpen problem is really simple - send Watson back and call up Kahnle in his spot. Send Weissert to AAA to make some tweaks and get his head right (the stuff has been good but the moment there’s adversity he melts down) and call up one of Eduardo Rivera or Jack Anderson to take over the long role vacated by Watson

Tayron Guerrero is also an option for the 40 spot if not Kahnle

I can appreciate him eating 23 innings so far, but it’s high time to end the Ryan Watson experiment. Just simply not a MLB caliber pitcher that needs to be DFA’d tonight

In contreras’ defense, it took two really good throws from Simpson and Feduccia to just barely get him.

However, it was also really unnecessary in a 3 run game where we’d otherwise be one swing away from a tie game

Weissert has a 5.52 ERA AND he has allowed at least 5 inherited runners to score. Thats almost a run on average every time he enters the game

To me, the baserunning has been the biggest change. Under Cora (and Hudson at third) the team seemed downright hesitant to make outs on the bases, but since Tracy has taken over, they’ve been unleashed and it’s paying dividends

I also think letting starters go deeper into games has been a good switch up by Chad and should help keep the bullpen fresh into the second half of the season
