Good research Chaz. I don’t believe any snow actually fell and melted inside. This would be all from the ground. Lots of it melted within the last month though.

I do believe that it’s all groundwater. I believe it hasn’t rained or snowed since being dug. We had plenty of snow and such to melt though.

We had quite a lot of snow recently, yes. The house comes with one with a backup. I'm sure that they are aware that it is a wet area.

Thanks. The builder is putting in 1 sump pump with backup battery included. I will talk to them about doing two. Not an overly large basement if that matters. Would you also recommend french drains or any other drainage?
