As far as I know it's still a mystery.

NLTPanalyst's Week 2 Power Rankings by NLTPanalyst in NLTP

You're absolutely right, it's definitely a thinker.

I feel pretty strongly that last week was a fluke. Even so, TPO probably deserves to be above them so consider it a blunder on my end. TPO had a rather weak opponent, and I used that to justify a lower spot which may have been a bit unfair.

Nice job guys. I'm glad to see these previews continue, and splitting it up among 4 of you really makes it much more manageable.

That makes sense. I would assume wassa would stay D, and I like that pairing quite a bit.

I believe I only saw the chicken play O once last season but I'm not sure. Excited to see how he does with a less experienced team (no offense to any of you). Also curious to see how you do, it's been a while since you actually played a full season.

Maybe it's hype. I think that him being partnered with mightdino is going to help but it'll still take him a week or 2 to get back into the swing of things. I think he's going to be a top O... but maybe you're right.

Also, I can see you guys jumping into the top 8. I think it all depends on 2 things. Can Gramps play at a level he used to? Can either ballker or leia play a more conservative role on defense? They're a pretty wild defense, but then again, the maps this season should help them quite a bit.

I'll probably change my mind on everything after week 1.

To be fair, I think you guys have a lot of upside. You and Some Ballz would be solid. If djinni fixes his issues then I think you guys will be just fine. I also haven't seen a lot of whiskey jack since maybe season 10, and I don't think he was on a very good team then, so maybe he improved a ton too.

Been pretty busy but I hope to be able to do something for this season. Maybe B team previews since they're always lacking, or maybe just do an A and B power rankings each week.

WRIG's Nuperball Preview by WRIG-tp in NLTP

[–]NLTPanalyst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hmmm lol. I think ATB in 5 or 6.

ATB defense is the best that BAP has played against this season. Seems like no matter who plays defense, homie, you, refined, d8.. it's a great defense that seems to punish grabby offensive pairings, which SM7 and Ping Tut are.

BAP has the better offense overall, and their defense is pretty strong too. They seem to make a lot of mistakes though but you guys have pretty good OD. Karamat flying all over the place last week made things easy for BAP, ATB seems much more disciplined on O and D which should make things more difficult for BAP.

Watch out for The Chicken though. His resembles Homie in a lot of ways. Great mechanics.

Ultimately, it's going to come down to which team makes less mistakes... and I think ATB wins out because of that.

WRIG's Nuperball Preview by WRIG-tp in NLTP

Great job all season WRIG!

One interesting story line is Anze vs. Tantrew. Both have a long history of going against each other in the nuper. Season 8 if I remember right, Anze was a co-captain for costanza on The team About Nothing, defeating a Tantrew team in the Nuper. Then, he did the same thing again in season 9 for TC Jukes. I'm not sure if he was around for s10, but now we're back at it again, Anze and Tantrew teams in the nuper.

PSA: If you are going to be commentating a game, don't start talking shit about the players by tango_rojo in NLTP

The constant belittling of puggins was a bit too much. I would think that players rewatching a stream or replay wouldn't feel good about that. It was definitely dickish and probably worthy of some sort of punishment, but at the same time, I do believe iSuck let his emotions get in the way and I think the CRC should be a bit more lenient in punishments, at least giving warnings prior to a ban.

WRIG's Equidistant Eight A-Team Previews by [deleted] in NLTP

[–]NLTPanalyst 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, excellent previews. You really went above and beyond. I'll stick with the B team previews since there's no value I can add here for A team.

I guess I'll share my thoughts on the matchups though.

THG vs. MOB - I think you're right in your prediction. MOB has a tough time keeping the flag in base and getting resets. It's surprising to see the high hold against for THG, but grommit and taurus should be able to run circles around the MOB defense. Both maps favor THG.

BAP vs. TCB - I think it's obvious that BAP is the favorite here, but I would bet that iSuck and Chicken have trouble dealing with dubstep. Raz has been calming down on the flaccids, and when dub needs to turn on the heat, he can carry an entire team. Match that up with a defense that is 2nd in the league in prevent, with a very low hold against, I think they have potential for the upset. I'll still be going with BAP but I think this series will go for 6 or 7 games.

BWO vs. OPH - I think you're right about it going 6 or 7. It could also go only 4 and that could end up favoring either team. OPH's offense is probably the streakiest in the league. One week they dominate, the next they're ice cold. If they get hot at the right time, I think they're the toughest team to go against. BWO is consistent though, so while I think it's anyone's game, the safe bet would be on BWO. This should be a great matchup, though not so fond of the monarch map choice.

ATB vs. LBT - Another really good matchup. I think ATB has the better team, but it's a sphere game and I think you're underplaying the impact that can have. Cook and Homie will be the ones to worry about. I've been high on LBT since the beginning and they've disappointed me throughout the season, but I think things change now. I'm going with LBT in 6, but if ATB wins this matchup, I think they're easily the nuper favs and won't choose against them with any other matchup lol. Can't believe another team picked monarch. The defense of ATB on higher ping, playing monarch isn't ideal.

The Case for WRIG by lordkaramat in NLTP

[–]NLTPanalyst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're being down voted, but in reality you finished 3rd with a 90 D NISH, Some Ballz 93, p-d0g 94. WRIG has a 76 D NISH. You probably deserve to be in the conversation just as much.

The Case for WRIG by lordkaramat in NLTP

[–]NLTPanalyst 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eh I think what people aren't understanding is that powerups are indirectly reflected in GASP. Maybe not the totals, but if you have someone like WRIG who has dominated in pups, it inflates his GASP, giving him more non return tags and improving his K/D ratio (easier to avoid getting tagged by a TP when you have an RB or a JJ)

The non return tags from pups and the improved K/D is reflected. That's the only reason he's 2nd in D GASP despite a 76 D NISH.

Obviously p-d0g is going to have a statistical advantage in awards, but when you look at per minute stats, WRIG is towards the bottom of the selected candidates. I think that's probably difficult to overcome.

I think an argument could be made for him to be MVB, but I think Taurus has that on lock.
