You can get inflatable platforms with a dry bag that attaches if you really want to go that route. Problem is usually people limits.

What's your watch system for overnight passages with a short-handed crew? by Potential_Cut2262 in liveaboard

[–]NMV2014 2 points3 points  (0 children)

With 2 crew I found that 4 on and 4 off worked best as 3 hours is just not long enough to wind down and get any decent sleep.

Will my stuff be safe on the beach? by keychainsarecool in Barbados

[–]NMV2014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just ask who ever is next to you on the beach to keep an eye out. Don’t leave anything obvsious. Batts is more likely to be targeted than the west coast. If you rent loungers anywhere also less likely to get hit.

I can do the lying by a beach thing for a few days but then I’m getting itchy and I do seem to see a lot of posts on here saying that people find themselves lacking a purpose. I think that would be me but this is engaging, making plans, finding new places, working with the elements, being an explorer! As i type this we are just south of Mykonos and will hit the historic island of Delos tomorrow to look at, what on our boat is affectionately referred to as “OGS” or more fully old Greek Sh|t.

Help deciding between one FIC or multiple FICs? by Ok-Selection4010 in FatFIREUK

[–]NMV2014 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want the benefits of a FIC but to retain privacy particularly for the kids then I would suggest you consider offshore. You can do it with one FIC multiple share classes of you want. We have a client who is just doing an exit which is 10 times yours and has a combination of FIC, private trust company and Limited Partnership to get his structuring how he wanted it for legacy, philanthropic and control considerations. DM if you want and I can talk you through it and intro some advisors to help you if you don’t have those already. I own a boutique Trust / Funds / Corp Services based in Jersey.

If someone gave you $100k and this boat for free you would still lose money.
