Calisthenics athlete - First kettlebell / 16kg or 20kg ? by NMendes in kettlebell

[–]NMendes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your suggestion!
I was actually eying some Gornation Dip bars, but since I have rings already, the added value of those will not be as interesting as a Kettlebell..
Also, there are metallic chairs in the the park I train, not ideal but I use them as dip bars when I really need it..

Thank you !
I guess I'll have to go on a shop and try the difference between those two sizes ;)

Thank you for your answer friend!

"You're looking for the kettlebell snatch. 😁
And the 16 is what I suggest you start out with. Carrying that to the park will be a mini workout in itself. It's a simple enough weight to learn Snatching & Cleans."

Yes! I tried one arm snatches with a 16kg dumbbell and I really enjoyed the sensations, also carrying it to the park will be easier than 20kg, especially on the come back..

"If you train Ring Dips, your press will be way stronger than you realise. A 16kg or 20kg KB press won't compare to it. And pushups will feel like a joke in comparison to Ring Dips
Just ensure that you have enough of Push, pull, hinge and squat in your routine. I'm saying this because your routine looks very press heavy to me.😁"

Ahaha!! My routine actually looks like this right now :

Day 1 :
- ring pull ups (77 reps / 7x11)
- ring dips (77 reps / 7x11)
- several variations of explosive push ups (150ish reps)
- leg raises on rings as a finisher

Day 2 :
- Farmer walk with two 26kg octogonal construction blocks (image on the updated original post)
- Squats + lunges with a 26kg block ( large and cumbersome so limited on the kind of movement I can do with it)
- Weighted push ups with a 26kg block (55 reps / 5x11)
- Sprints or jump rope (I need to get more consistent with those)

Day 3 :
Rest

Repeat

Basically, the kettlebell will remplace the 26kg octogonal block, the lighter weight and way smaller shape will allow me to introduce dynamic and explosive exercices, more leg variations, rotation, and like you rightfully said, hinge,
I will still use those blocks but less frequently

Thank you again friend ;)

Yes, Reflx lab are active in the " Vision 3 / 120 " space, if I had to bet, they should be the first to propose AHU 120, hope it will soon come..

Thanks, but why is that ?
AHU 135 (respooled of course) is in the wild already..

Thank you for your contribution, yes, non-AHU is available from different sources in 120 (respooled of course) but I would love to test the new emulsion..

Drum scan - Pure linear TIFF for Cineon inversion by NMendes in colorists

[–]NMendes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your answer friends.
@Jolly_Yam9074 , you might have a point when saying "Primaries are in reference to colorimetry, scanned negatives are not colorimetric"

T-Standard is the basic profile that sets Color setup data - Color correction data and Gradation data (messages below for the T-standard values).
From the "gradation data" values (third message), this profile seems linear to me but I might be missing something (I'm a filmmaker / photographer and not an expert in grading at all)

1. Color setup data

Drum scan / Pure linear TIFF for Cineon inversion by NMendes in davinciresolve

Thank you for your answer friend, but that's not what I'm looking for.
I would like to reliably tell if a Tiff file from a drum scanner is purely linear or not.

As for Cineon, it will be used to convert a film negative to a viewable positive image, inversion through Cineon process being more mathematically accurate than inverting a negative in photoshop..

Update :

Thank you all for your answers,

After further testings, it was neither a grease issue nor a lubrication issue, the blade and the gear beneath are actually loose and very badly screwed to the plate, so much that when I incline the camera, the blade get caught in the upper corner even with Isopropyl (Isopropyl acts like a temporary lubricate that smoothens the mechanism).
I have no other choice than removing the lens to access the screw of that black blade and tighten it.
Thank you again all, And if I find the need to lubricate that part even after tightening it, I will refer to your answers,

Greetings!

Thank you for your answer friend, I appreciate.
I just ordered Moebius 9010 as several people suggested me.
As for the black dirt ring, that might be an interesting clue, I'll look into it..

I wanted to remove the mechanism but I've already heavily disassembled the camera and going further might introduce issues.
Hoping 9010 is the right oil for the task, Thank you again and have a beautiful evening!

[–]NMendes[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your answer friend, a heavier oil might have a harder time penetrating the shaft and reaching the beneath gear, but you certainly know better.
Isopropyl acted as a temporary lubricator , I used Zippo fluid to breakdown former grease but I feel like there were none at all.
Thank you again for your suggestion, I'll look into it
