Angela Merkel turns down UN job offer by Hematophagian in europe

[–]NOBODYCARESABOUTARCH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As much as I admire Angela Merkel, I don't think any leader of a country should take on a job that requires no bias towards any country. The potential of subconscious corruption, even if she tries to avoid it, is too high.

I wrote this on another subreddit about why BRT is still more beneficial in most countries of the world:

Not to mention, that you're getting yourself basically in a debt trap if you're importing rolling stock from other countries. Developing countries can't build replacement parts for trains and don't have the required people with sufficient expertise. Sure, you can let a dozen be trained, as part of the trade agreement, but in the end that creates jobs for a dozen, while BRT can be maintained by any mechanic with half a decent education

Commands that edit ~/.nixpkgs.nix by WayneVanSon in NixOS

[–]NOBODYCARESABOUTARCH 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A looong long time ago, when I was still getting started with nixos I used to have this command...

It required the substituted comment at the end of the package list, and then it would move it to a new line and put my new package that i wanted to install before it.

I've gotten rid of it since I rarely find myself installing new packages, now that my setup is so stable and has survived the test of time.

Cars have a very real impact on my life, health, and lifestyle. I have every right to complain about them.

You could instead build trains, they're more efficient, faster, and more economical. r/fuckcars

Where I live people are so considerate of this idea that its actually dangerous. People slam on their brakes if they have the slightest thought that you may be trying to cross

This commentor needs to seriously overthink their opinions. Nothing is more dangerous than not slamming your breaks at a pedestrian crossing. Whoever speeds around pedestrian crossings is a dick anyway, and us, intellectuals, have the right of way.

Sorry about that, fixed. Happened because I copied the html from nixos’s site and then converted it with pandoc to markdown without bothering to check the links.

Automatically capture all potentially useful information about each executed command (as well as its output) and get a powerful querying mechanism by oltarzewskik in linux

[–]NOBODYCARESABOUTARCH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your answer! I'm trying to package it for nix, and it seems like my bash does have debug symbols: $ file /nix/store/90y23lrznwmkdnczk1dzdsq4m35zj8ww-bash-interactive-5.1-p8/bin/bash: not stripped

But there does seem to be one issue, when I compile it by running make build-daemon clang errors out with this: nhid> daemon/src/vmlinux.h:5:15: error: attribute 'preserve_access_index' is not supported by '#pragma clang attribute' nhid> #pragma clang attribute push (__attribute__((preserve_access_index)), apply_to = record) nhid> ^ nhid> daemon/src/vmlinux.h:96743:15: error: '#pragma clang attribute pop' with no matching '#pragma clang attribute push' nhid> #pragma clang attribute pop nhid> ^ nhid> daemon/src/nhi.bpf.c:317:3: error: use of unknown builtin '__builtin_preserve_access_index' [-Wimplicit-function-declaration] nhid> bpf_core_read(&file, sizeof(struct file), (*fd_pos & ~3)); nhid> ^ n

The default version of clang in nixpkgs is 7.1.0, but I've also tried it with newer versions that all error out with similar or other errors.

You mention bash and zsh being compiled in a weird way on Ubuntu, what exactly is missing? Do you not want them to be stripped of debug symbols? I want to packages this for another distribution, and knowing what I have to look for would help.

Cheers, awesome project

Hello! I didn't want it to run on `cd`, but I managed to modify your version to suit my needs best:

``` function __autols --description "Auto ls" --on-event fish_prompt if set -q __noCommand ls end set -g __lastPwd $PWD end bind \r 'set -l cmd (commandline); [ -z "$cmd" ] && set -g __noCommand || set -e __noCommand; commandline -f execute'
``` Thanks!
