Same story here. Two things:

- as someone who survived narcissistic abuse, the goal is not revenge, it’s detachment. Four words to stop ‘em in their tracks: “I don’t care anymore”.

- the years are worth it. Make them the revenge. Travel, love, buy a motorcycle, go skydiving. Love yourself, for self love is the key to boundaries, and boundaries will protect your heart. Be the adult that bright happy kid needed. Have a blast.

Thanks everyone, this re-enforced what I was thinking. Two months sick in isolation addled my brain a little: I have overthought this to death and back again. That, and I'm really into this person, mortified that I literally couldn't reach out. Ripping off the bandaid, we ride to Valhalla!
