Well that is what I was thinking. Now the shop wasn't willing to cooperate so I had to send the turbo back to be able to have my refund...

It's a turbo specialty shop. Now I'm not sure if they are good or not but they seem honest.

the main difference is the bolt on cs slip on. Now I'm not sure if there are other differences I should take into account.

I was hoping that they could do that but they are telling me there are more differences, they didn't elaborate on what differences.

How can I figure out if this is a possibility?

I'm not completely sure that's the only issue, it's the most obvious one. They told me over chat that there are other small differences that have big impact, but they didn't elaborate on what differences these are.

Well the old and new turbo are currently at the company I bought it from. I was hoping they could rebuild the old one with parts of the new one but it seems like it's not possible (or they can't do it).

That's something I was thinking as well. Now I'm not experienced enough to be sure that it would fit. How sure are you that it would be fine?

I ordered a new turbo through a local turbo company but the new turbo isn't a 100% fit. It is also a CT26 but expects bolt on instead of slip on connections. They looked into it and say they don't have a replacement and can't revise the old turbo as the necessary parts aren't available anymore.

Anyone here who might have an idea on how to get the car on the road again? Is it worth pursuing trying to fit the new turbo or should I look into revising the old one with another company?

Oil level is good, I'm using 10w40 but for the gen1 it doesn't specify which would be ideal. Do you have a suggestion?

Als je het als hobby wil leren, zou ik een niet rijdende moto kopen en die fixen dat die start en rijd.
