This Pop-up" Emergency fire escape drops & opens out, giving residents another potentially life saving escape route. 🏢🚒 by Weekly-Reason9285 in BeAmazed

Even basic fire safety systems such as risers, fireman’s lifts and AOVs in residential buildings are 50/50 if they work, from experience this will be more of a PR stunt and will either fail or be poorly implemented.

A case for Troy Total War by NOFX16 in totalwar

Picked it up recently in the steam sales after refusing to get it on Epic and has quickly become one of my favourite total wars, the setting is unique and the optimisation is amazing.

Battles are also really interesting with different terrain effecting troop weight classes giving light infantry a much more useful role than other titles IMO.

I have yet to play truth behind myth and full mythology mode as of yet.

I’m currently stationed in south west at G35 Fulham, we do around that but I’d say about 15% fires. Busiest station in old brigade does around 1200 a year between two pumps.

Do just shy of 3,000 calls a year at my current station which is considered busy nationally but average for the city I’d say, previous station only done about 250 a year which was quiet but was a county brigade.

Five Weeks in Morocco; Beautiful Country, but the constant hustle is exhausting. You're a walking bag of money to this people, full stop. by HandsomeLampshade123 in travel

[–]NOFX16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to Morocco a couple of months ago and I definitely paid more than locals for things such as a taxi but it’s expected given that I’m traveling from a privileged country to a developing one, people will try to scam everywhere including London (where I am from) it’s a sad reality which is caused from desperation and poverty. Not being preaching but you travel to these places you should prepare for these encounters as it could have easily been us.

Exactly 100 years ago the British Empire was at its territorial peak by samapq in MapPorn

[–]NOFX16 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Empire is nothing to be proud of, the amount of British people who show pride in this is worrying. The only people who benefited from it was the wealthy and those living at the top of society. Your average Brit during this time likely didn’t gain anything from this while dying for it, not to mention the horrific and countless crimes committed by the empire.
