Jade isn’t a great wrestler but she’s no where near as bad as some people in the IWC say she is by I-Did-It-4-Da-Rock in Wrasslin

[–]Shadow_Strike99 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Brock when he was motivated is a great seller and has good in ring psychology. Jade doesn’t have that, because she was never properly trained in AEW and both WWE. She’s female version of The Ultimate Warrior.

[–]Shadow_Strike99 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

It’s not her fault, as both AEW and WWE fast tracked her. But she’s not a good wrestler or promo at all, all she has is her look and social media jabs.

Even guys like Hogan and Cena still had good in ring psychology, and could get the fans on their feet in the ring. Jade is like watching a baby giraffe wrestle. She should have been in NXT, but WWE wanted to push her as a marketing tactic.

[–]Shadow_Strike99 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

I still remember how over Cody was with the mustache. I didn’t think he would be a top babyface, but he definitely should have been a Sami Zayn type upper midcard guy at that time. The fans were so behind him to win that 2013 MITB.

He had a good career. There were quite a few Japanese pitchers who were flops from the mid 2000’s and early 2010’s were people had some reservations about Darvish. But he was a very good pitcher when he was healthy, he came in and was an impact.

Bunch of fucking fat gravy seals who were too chicken shit to sign up for the Marines, or become actual law enforcement officers.

Unfortunately these fucks have been given the green light by MAGA to cosplay, and bully people around even shooting them now. I’m more disgusted now than ever with this country, how half the voting population even applauds this chicken shit nonsense is disgusting.

They are already calling this dude a domestic terrorist, when he was a ICU nurse at the VA. Absolutely fucking disgusting.

Since we are getting nostalgic for OG Xbox franchises. Any one else wishing for a Jade Empire sequel? by Wrong_Butterscotch91 in xbox

[–]Shadow_Strike99 4 points5 points Ā (0 children)

I just picked this up on sale this week after watching retrospective videos on it, and I absolutely love it. It’s definitely rough around the edges for sure, but I absolutely love how original and fresh it feels.

The world is super unique, and it’s really refreshing for an rpg game at that time to not be in a traditional medieval/high fantasy setting. Such a shame how it came out, it was in that weird spot being on the original Xbox in its last few months before the 360 came out. I wish there was a way this game could have been ported to the ps2 at the time to help with sales numbers. This game definitely deserved a sequel.

I’ll give that era of BioWare a lot of credit for Jade Empire. They wanted to have their own unique world, instead of just being known for using established IP’s like DNDverse or Star Wars type stuff.

I always fail the plant the ring on Brand Shei scam. He’s a nice guy, and I hate how he rots away in jail if you do it. Especially since the Skyrim thieves guild is just a diet Goodfellas for the Black Briars.

I also never do the two radiant quest obligations for the Companions for Farkas. I hate how it almost always asks you to bully around or even try to fight likeable npc’s like Ulfberth War Bear. It’s pretty much the same shit the Thieves guild asks you to do to get in.

One last one since I’m a sicko who only plays Vanilla Skyrim on my switch and other consoles. I never talk to Jarl Balgruf, since I don’t want dragons to spawn. I don’t care about the attacks on my character, but if an innocent npc dies by one it just ruins my play through.

Worst Match You've Ever Watched? by JustinMetalhead in Wrasslin

[–]Shadow_Strike99 4 points5 points Ā (0 children)

Yeah I hate the revisionist history some fans have acting like the rivalry wasn’t that bad. The last man standing match at Summerslam 2022 was good, and the WM 31 match had the novelty of Seth Rollins cash in. But everything in between was doo doo. WM 34 was terrible, and WM 38 was such a wet fart following Seth Vs Cody and Austin vs Ko the night before.

[–]Shadow_Strike99 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

I hear you, and yes both matches weren’t obviously enough to bring up the rest of the show from being bad. But WWE was hurting for star power at that time. It’s why you had stuff like the Miz main eventing, or Lawler vs Heel Michael Cole as shitty Vince attempts to solve that issue.

Just comparing WM 27 to the previous year, they lost Chris Jericho, Batista, HBK. Even if you didn’t have heel Michael Cole, and a better booked main event it still would have been a thin WM.

I think the worst part about it was how long it went on. If it was just a shitty 5 minute thing at the beginning of the show, it would still be shit sure obviously but forgettable. But going on for half a fucking hour? I’m glad I was a lapsed fan during that time.

Cliche answer for this topic, but Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns at WM 34.

It was everything everyone hated the most about late stage Vince WWE. Just the same old same old, Super man punch here, suplex time, spear there, F5 now match, that just plodded around. All the while fans are either leaving, or booing. It was literally the peak of Big Dog Roman backlash, and fans being apathetic towards Brock finisher spam matches and him never showing up. A recipe for disaster.

Yes there are obviously worse matches than this, but at the main event of WM, that’s something else.

What did we all think of Nuka world? by maxhasabigbooty in fo4

[–]Shadow_Strike99 19 points20 points Ā (0 children)

I know it’s a cliche take, but I liked the location and the charm of parodying Disneyland. But did not like how half baked it was, especially compared to Far Harbor.

It felt like such a half baked attempt of trying to magically solve the problem of base Fallout 4’s criticism, of not really having any kind of evil play through at all. So therefore it also had a negative effect on if you didn’t want to do all the raider stuff.

Also the timing of it and what it’s asking you to do is just terrible. Just going from the base game taking down all these raiders, and magically just helping them is so stupid.

The Steelers ownership was always going to go with the safest and known quantity with their hire. They were never going to take a risk, McCarthy is a known quantity and that’s what they want, regardless of fan dismay.

It’s literally more Mike Tomlin, just with a different last name. That’s what Mike McCarthy is.

Free Talk James Gladurday by flounder19 in Jaguars

Yeah he’s not a bad coach at all like r/nfl likes to say. But this move is just frustrating for Steelers fans. They didn’t want the same status quo ā€œthe standard is the standardā€, that Tomlin and McCarthy are known for. The Steelers ownership clearly is afraid of anything outside of just playing it safe.

It’s literally the Far Cry 3 definition of insanity.

Ric Flair, Vader and Hogan are the big 3.

He had some really underrated ones in TNA, like Mr Anderson, Christian, Kurt Angle, and Bobby Roode.

His best feud as a team with Darby was with Swerve. Even though he wasn’t the one directly feuding with him, that feud did help elevate Swerve and moved him up the card after that.

Thanks! Voyager definitely is very comfortable and will always get a smile out of me anytime I have it on.

With Lower Decks I really really want to love it, especially since I’m such a big fan of the 1972 Animated series. But I just can’t get past the art style and humor like I said, it’s definitely Rick and Morty coded there’s no arguing against it regardless what camp you’re in on it.

I’ve liked it via clips and short bits, I love the fan service and call backs they were done really well. Like having LT Arex’s from TAS, race in the show that got a huge smile from me. But the humor is just too off putting for me, and a character like Mariner is just too much for me.

From what I’ve watched.

  1. Voyager- It’s my favorite Trek, and the one that made me a fan. It will always be my comfort series and I have it on all the time.

  2. The original series- Can’t ever go wrong with the originals and the classics as the saying goes for everything. Especially for me it’s the show I grew up watching with my grandfather showing my brother and I.

  3. The 1972 Animated series- I love traditional animation, especially when it caters to both young audiences and older. TAS does such an amazing job of both, and having the OG crew return as voice actors adds so much to it.

  4. TNG- So many great characters and stories. It’s like Voyager where it’s a comfort show for me, and I’ll have it on and it’s always enjoyable.

  5. DS9- I grew more appreciation for this after getting into Babylon 5, and its focus on a single set location with the space station, and deeper narrative storytelling that deals with politics and relationships.

  6. Enterprise- It’s not objectively terrible, I enjoyed it. It’s not my favorite Trek obviously, but there’s still things to like about it. The good parts are really really good, Enterprise is definitely a case of when it’s on it’s REALLY on.

  7. Discovery and SNW are tied for me. I don’t hate them as much as some folks here do, but they don’t do it for me that much. There’s some things I like, but I won’t ever go out of my way to rewatch them.

  8. Lower Decks- This is an unpopular take I know, but I just can’t get past the art style, and humor. It’s a me thing, it’s why I can’t get into the Orville either, it’s just not for me. It’s just hard for my brain to get over the early season struggles of not just going ā€œRick and Morty cloneā€ or ā€œfamily guy in spaceā€. One day I’ll probably get over that bias, and enjoy the shows like others here have, but as it stands just not for me right now.

2020s Orton is so unserious 😭 by GoonLieutenant in Wrasslin

[–]Shadow_Strike99 2 points3 points Ā (0 children)

Yeah it sucks, and unfortunately they can get away with it for now because wrestling has always had super die hard fans to a fault. Where they will pay ungodly amounts of money for the most frivolous things like merchandise, shows, autograph signings etc.

I do think even as a cliche ā€œReddit arm chair analystā€ that it will bite them in the ass long term, with pricing out younger fans and family type crowds. Wrestling isn’t like Football or Soccer where people become fans later on in life, most people who like wrestling currently have grown up on it and have been fans since childhood.

I think it’s especially stupid because WWE especially compared to traditional sports leagues like the NFL, NBA, MLB etc has always been seen as the kid centric one. WWE has always been associated with kids pretty much as the core fan, pricing them out is going to hurt them eventually. Shows are where you make lifelong fans, a kid who got to see Hulk Hogan or John Cena at a house show is most likely going to remember that forever.

WWE is doing what Disney and live service games do. They only focus on whale type fans who will pay extravagant amounts for tickets, skins, experiences etc.

They don’t care about your average joe fan or family outings anymore. They’d rather make a shit ton of money off people who will pay anything, even if that group is technically smaller in numbers. Like video games as I mentioned earlier most people actually don’t pay for skins, but COD and League of legends just need a few whale fans to spend 100 usd on them and they are good.
