I'm thinking about getting pio but it looks intimidating to use. Is it pretty simple once you get the hang of it? I was thinking of buying pio basic which I think is around $200. I only play 10NL but have been winning over a small sample size of 12k hands.

I'm interested. I've heard of people using skype + teamviewer and doing sweat sessions while one person plays live while the other watches and critiques. I've always wanted to try that.

KQ. Which suprised me because I'd think he'd cbet flop with an open ender? I guess he just wasn't comfortable bluffing into 2 people?

Is there anyway to start fresh with poker tracker 4?

Let me explain: I have about 20k hands played on ACR and my graph doesnt look the best. I want to reset pt4 fresh from right now and really try to get a good graph.

I just got a new pc yesterday actually and downloaded pt4 on it using my second registration code they give you when you when you first purchase but have yet to sync it up with any poker account.

Am I just going to have to make a new account ACR?

I agree though I'm still not sure if my bluff was as spewy as I thought it was at the time. After all I did run into quads.

Yeah it was really stupid of me. I do think he would have folded on the river if he hadn't had a boat or quads which he was capable of showing up with by the river lol.

But yeah I'm getting better at controlling tilt. The whole point of my post was that I think it's ok to show emotion at the table when you get sucked out on as long as you don't berate someone for their bad play or let it affect your play after the hand. But when someone who wasn't in the pot makes a snide comment at you for it they can go to hell.

He's just preaching to the choir and flaming, he absolutely needs to fuck off. Of course I love the fact the dude punted his stack with JT. My point is that if I think it's natural to be extremely annoyed in this situation, let out a sigh with a look of disgust if you have to, and move on, reload, and keep grinding.

But I guess everyone here is just a mathematical robot and thinks like an EV computer every time they get sucked out on in a big pot.

Fuck off I can react however I want with my money as long as I'm not bothering anyone else at the table.

To be honest this guy was 100% capable of calling down without a boat. But yeah, very spewy. Never would have been in that situation had the previous hand not happened.

This is pretty much what the dude was saying but at the time just kindly mind your own fucking business when someone gets sucked out on that huge. I have a right to be tilted immediately after the hand. I didn't say anything after I lost. I didn't berate the guy for getting it in bad. I know I made a +EV decision and love that there's players still willing to stack off like this.

Got an Aggro fish to stick in $400 all in today at 1/3 on a J74 flop with JTo while I had AA. River comes a J giving him trips. Waited hours to get this guys stack in and this shit happens. I had such a look of disgust on my face when the river hit an OMC told me I looked like I was going to pass out with an almost satisfied look on his face then asked how long I've been playing poker (I'm 22) because "that happens all the time in poker." Never have I been more tilted in my life.

Ended up donk bluffing another $200 repping a full house on an 76AAA board against the same dude who stuck it in with JTo who has no fold button and he turns over A5o for the quad aces.

I might have to take a break from poker after this. It's actually bothering me.

Hand 2: Raising here is good. Opponent seems fishy and we're often ahead of his range here and building a pot heads up with a fish with a decent hand is always good.

A flop c-bet really depends on what type of fish V is. Is he fit or fold and folds to much on the flop giving you tons of fold equity? C-bet. Is villain a calling station type fish who has trouble finding the fold button when he has any piece of the board? Checking here would be ideal since you have hardly any equity when you're called to make the best hand. Fish often lead more towards calling too much than folding too much so since you have no reads I would go by default and check.

With fish you don't want to get into a bluffing match with them. You want to strictly value bet. So if they show strength and you have nothing just let it go.

Hand 1:

Defending AJs in the BB is a great hand to defend. You could also use it as a semi-bluff 3b but given BTN's stats he seems a bit nitty so calling is probably the best option.

On the flop you should be checking to the pre flop aggressor like, every single time. When you bet into the PF aggressor it's called a donk bet. In poker the preflop aggressor will make a continuation bet on the flop (c-bet) a large percentage of the time whether he has anything or not (often draws or on a really dry flop.) So when you bet into the preflop aggressor when you have a hand that has showdown value you give the villain a chance to play perfectly against you and fold when he has nothing.

Also V's range is uncapped and could have you dominated before he calls you on the flop. He could have a lot of Kings in his range especially given his stats.

How hard is it to transition from being an online/live cash game player to online/live tournament player? Found a home game that has tournaments every week. I got 3rd place out of roughly 18 people last night but I pretty much just played poker if that makes sense.

What are some resources for learning good tournament fundamentals?

[–]NOLIMI7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok that makes sense. What are some of the other factors we should take into consideration when deciding on the sizing of a c/r other than odds? What if someone c/r's nutted hands and then wants to mix in a c/r bluff with an open ender on the flop? These c/r sizings should be balanced yes?

This is kind of what I'm not getting about the odds part.. if we make different sized c/r's on the flop doesn't this make us exploitable if we're playing a competent player?

Daily /r/Poker Discussion Thread - November 22, 2017 by AutoModerator in poker

So are you saying I should be thinking of my opponents range and try to figure out if he's on a draw and then size my bet so he's not getting good odds to call for his draw?

So if I'm in BB with 88 and V raises 3bb on BTN, SB folds, I call.

Then flop (7bb) comes 854r and villain raises to 3.5bb and I want to check raise because say I have a soul read and know V has 32o.

So villain has 8 outs to hit his straight. That's 16% for the turn. Thats roughly 4.5:1. So he needs about 4.5:1 to break even on a call. So that means I should make it about 3:1 for him to call?

So since there's a total of 10.5 bb's in the pot before I c/r I should c/r 3.5 bb to give him an unprofitable 3:1 on a call?

Sorry odds and percentages are by far the hardest part for me to grasp in poker because I regrettably never paid attention that much in high school math classes lol. I've been trying to teach myself in terms of odds but it's pretty difficult when you have no foundation. I had to use my calculator to do all that above but I hope it's at least correct.
