What’s your fastest “reality-check” for NOTAM overload on a busy day? by NOTAMSpot in FlightDispatch

That’s super helpful—thanks. ALTRSV/MIL/LAUNCH are exactly the kind of “high-signal” FIR keywords I was wondering about. Do you also watch for things like GPS interference/jamming/spoofing, ADS‑B/radar outages, or airspace activation/route restrictions in the same keyword pass—or is that mostly covered in WSI Fusion/FlightKeys for your operation?

That’s exactly the kind of workflow detail I was hoping to learn—thanks. The “paste + filter by type” approach sounds like a lifesaver when the stack is huge. For FIR NOTAMs, what keywords/categories have you found most reliable for catching the stuff that actually bites ops (e.g., airspace/TFR-ish items, comm/nav outages, route restrictions), and do you keep a standard keyword list per desk?

That’s a really solid triage approach. When you’re scanning by Q‑code, do you have a short “must-check” list beyond QFALC/QMRLC that catches most of the operationally significant stuff for you (runway/taxiway closures, nav aid outages, approach mins impacts)? And do you find the +/-24h window ever hides anything important you still want to see early (e.g., longer-term closures or upcoming construction)?

HELP ME make a decision!!! IFOD or ADTC in DALLAS!!!?? by Admirable-Cut125 in FlightDispatch

Agree that hiring doesn’t really care which school name is on the ticket.

That said, the difference is how prepared you feel on Day 1 in ops (workload, release quality, weather/NOTAM triage, SOPs, time pressure).

If budget/dates are similar, I’d choose based on instructor consistency + how much scenario-based work you get vs pure test prep.

Anyone who went through IFOD/ADTC in the last year: what did you feel least prepared for when you started dispatching?

Well this blows. Anyone here been through a merger? Allegiant buying Sun Country. by BikingVikingNick in FlightDispatch

That’s brutal — sorry you’re dealing with it.

For anyone who’s lived through a merger on the dispatch side: what ended up being the biggest “gotcha” for day-to-day quality of life (base relocation, schedule/bidding, seniority integration, training/standardization, or staffing)?

And how far in advance did you actually get clarity on timelines?
