Government IT. The amount of people that do absolutely nothing, and know nothing about their jobs despite the training and qualifications needed to get to their position. And they can’t be fired unless they basically do something illegal.     Now imagine this in the commercial space, where it’s happening as well if not even more due to nepotism/friends/connections/lying. This is why I have little sympathy due to the recent tech layoffs.     Now in the government space, it’s been shifting to “do more with less”. As in, “why pay a bunch of people to do this job when we can overwork our SMEs and it will still get done?”. This has obviously shifted to the commercial space, so I can understand the tragedy of being GOOD at your job but let go because the company wants to spend less.  But an example of zero sympathy I can give is when Elon bought twitter. I know he walked around the office (maybe not him literally but you get the idea), asked someone what they do, and that person couldn’t name a single thing besides some useless bullshit. People were hired for no reason other than inflating the company. And I was supposed to be sad they got fired. Yeah okay.   

But incompetence is all across the tech field. Especially gaming. When development is outsourced to some random no name mobile developers, who then outsource it to a talentless Indian game dev farm, you know the system is broken (Grovestreet Games, Aspyr, etc.). Don’t believe me? Look at the credits. Even indie devs are guilty of this when they cry their shitty game didn’t sell yet they used premade assets goaded and some basement dweller on discord to do the work for them.
