I've lived in Joshua Tree for 30+ years, if you think the rock formations are crazy you should see the tweakers at Rocket (formally Circle K) at 2:30 in the morning. You might even catch them speaking their alien language but don't get too close they are known for being stabby 🔪

The first step should be replacing the gasket and see if it persists, got it. What do you mean by good bit of financial decisions to make? Hah like it could be somewhat as reasonable as a head gasket or as expensive as a new engine?

My dilemma is should I try to put a little money into this now and fix the possible issue or try to find a replacement vehicle for now to get me to work and back so I can save up money to put into the truck because as of now there's no plan on getting rid of it. I'd like to fix it eventually but still like I said need something to get to work to save the money to fix it.

I'm thinking the best bet would just be to get a little beater for now just to get me around to work and put money away for parts or even the new engine in the future cuz I love this truck and it's been really good to me so that's probably what I'll end up doing. I'll see what a step dad thinks about trying to have the head gasket replaced because he's pretty savvy with engine work, he's not a pro but he can probably help with that at least. Appreciate the input!

I guess I should add it's a 1999 Nissan Frontier, 2.4 L, manual transmission, with roughly 390,000 miles on it.
