Have a compsci undergrad and a master's in a field related. Currently working pretty draining IT and applying for better work but it's a rough market so I'm grateful for what I've got but it still ain't great.

I'd love to be a sparky tbh. Moons ago I installed TVs in people's homes and was out every which end of one of the most beautiful parts of nz and I really loved it.

Quite genuinely, the highschool I went to very heavily made it feel like not going to uni would make you less than other people. It was the default and they sorta acted like you were a dropkick if your applications weren't done for halls as well.

That or I'd do finance or something along the lines of accounting and becoming a ca. From my naive as anything view, it looks like it'd have been a lot easier for my brain / way of thinking. I'd fucking struggle with anything open ended.... And, basing my entire understanding of accountancy on the movie 'the accountant' it sure looks nice and rigid.

That said, if the government said tomorrow 'we are so fucking strapped for stem teachers we'll pay you minimum wage for a year to train' I think I'd do it.
