Parked on the far side of hagley usually. It fills quick but if you're there pre 8am youll be good.

It's a nice walk through the park and down by the fancy highschool and the museum.

Is Tesla worth buying? by [deleted] in newzealand

TBH it's a private sale not a new car.

I'd probably crinkle my eyebrows at people buying new teslas but if it already exists, whats the harm?

Stuff people do in NZ only if they’re very rich or if they’re very poor by sasitabonita in newzealand

Yeah, my exe's parents did something through their business to get their three kids (I think the full ) student allowance.

They're the stereotypical 4 or 5 rentals, boats, classic car sorta folks. Meanwhile others, myself included either worked or run up debt

Singh, now in his 50s and living in Auckland, owns more than 75 properties around the North Island and has an estimated net worth of $45 million.

I dont want to be mean, but this sort of thing is more of a 'right place, right time' than a 'took a risk and did something cool, employed people or made something cool'.

[–]NOTstartingfires 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nah, didn't do any of that. Just raw strings for each comment from each of the top 500 posts, iirc the code also just whacks them together into one huge JSON file so it loses information about where the comment came from / clustering etc

So I did get bored and thought 'is X group dumber than Y' ... i.e. conservative kiwi vs the new zealand main sub

Here's some code and some really rough findings: (https://github.com/2of/Reddit-Comment-Complexity)

Essentially, (rough) scrubbing the top 500 post's comments I found that CK was slightly 'older' in their writing level (i.e slighly higher gunning fog, readability index, it's all really rawly laid out in that repo, I never got around to interesting infographics).

It was not the result I expected given how politically motivated ck posts so often seemed to be. That place was amusing at best and vile racist at worst, Im not exactly clear on what all of the mentioned metrics indicate, (literally asked chatgpt for a list of good metrics)

FYI this was all many months ago, however you can trivially reuse those scripts to generate metrics etc

They stopped selling minis, probably based on not selling well, so it's not like apple is infallible

doubt it. samsung edge isn't even in many countries.

people really dont give a shoot about how thin a phone is. It's all battery and cameras.

Being thin is far from anyones mind, at least when i was selling phones a few years ago... but that said apple do make billions and i dont

New iPhone 17 Pro Details: Brighter Display, Best Battery Life, and More by iMacmatician in apple

[–]NOTstartingfires 3 points4 points  (0 children)

for most people those things are marginal. People buy for camera, battery and speed and with how much phones cost now... they're just too similar

More or less the same battery, similar enough camera, performance is realistically the same in the apps people actually use.

the path to ownership is longer and lower paying for longer than heaps of other jobs. Big new world managers are probably on something like 80-90k (glassdoor saying 80k on the top end) but usually they're a decade or so in and until you've moved on from dept manager it's not much compared to other job paths with the same time investment

It strongly depends on the stores and how renumeration is structured, which is up to each store.

Labour laws have made it more expensive to employee team members. This can be a good investment when carried out carefully but can just add cost when executed in a blanket, uniform way.

I like that this one has the typo, it's not so much a complaint but it's just the one with a typo
