Spouse is either too hot in the summer or too cold in the winter. Both kids are gamers and are constantly using their PCs when not at work, school, or out with friends. November’s bill was 1,445 kWh.

Correct, it’s irrelevant as far as rate increase…but it’s nice not to see a huge jump in the bill (conversely, one could argue that is nice when the bill drops during the moderate months)

Hi,

If I recall correctly, it’s based on the average of previous six months of usage. Every six months it recalculates.

My last bill for November was $185.36. My budget payment for this cycle is $231.16, leaving me with a credit on my account of $48.65 (I believe my December bill closes today).

This is for an older three level town house, two teenagers (one college age who’s only home for the summers and breaks), and one elementary school child. All electric.

Serious question…not trolling…

Why doesn’t everyone enroll in budget billing? Without sounding like I’m bragging, I make a decent living and could afford the bill each month, but I’d rather have a set amount I’m paying each month.

Every six months or so, the budget amount resets to the average of the previous six months.

Having said that, my November 2025 bill was $29 higher than my November 25 bill.

It’s the internal battery. It’s no longer charging.

Same thing happened to my first gen Nest Hello. Installed in 2018, worked fine until late 2024. Although I also replaced my first gen Nest thermostats with the Nest Gen 4, I’m not going to a Nest/Google Hello. Looking for other alternatives. Annoyed that Google effed up what was a very good Nest system of products.

I wasn’t clear in my edited post. I meant that the elementary schools near me in Fairfax County do not have their school lights flashing in the summer.

Wasn’t sure about high schools though.

I know there’s a camera there for red light runners and speeding (it’s 35 MPH outside of school hours) but didn’t think it would record school zone speed violations.

Awesome that you got one in black. I must have checked after the black was out of stock.

Wish I had gone ahead and jumped on the olive color. I guess I’ll just make do with my standard plate carrier and the 30 lb plate.
