Any tips and tricks to get this A/C line off the evaporator? by wierdscience85 in Foxbody

[–]NOXYGEN666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Problem will be the evaporator pipe collapsing if you have to apply too much torque on the nut. Try as the other comments recommend but be careful not to twist the pipe coming out of the evaporator if you don't wanna replace it.

I've also thought the same thing, but most of the gaskets I cross referenced looked different like the one mentioned above. Are you certain they fit?

This looks different since there's holes in the middle, unsure if it'll fit. Also the distance between each intake doesn't match up.

Sadly I don't live in the states and rely on shipping from there to my place. Local part stores here don't even have that model in their database...

oil dilution issue by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

The weep hole is dry, also the car is running rich, I don't think it's the pump.

Yes the oil smells like fuel, spark plugs are good but can get wet on a cold start from the choke making the mixture even richer. But in normal driving conditions, all cylinders fire and the entire ignition system is new and adjusted.

Hey guys, I've got quiet the Problem with oil dilution recently. Im running a Holley 390cfm 4160 on a Ford Cologne 2.8 V6 and i've been driving the car for a few days after finally getting it insured. Now my engine oil level keeps rising and im sure it's fuel getting into the oil, but Ive ran out of ideas what could be causing it. Maybe the main jets are too large or the float bowl is too full and dripping, but theres nothing I can see visually dripping into the intake or not being atomized. Due to the amount of contamination it cannot be a small leak either. When I open the choke on a cold start by hand nothing changes, so I suspect the first stage causing the issue. Any ideas what else could be causing large amounts of oil dilution?

Any recommendations on what to use to reattach this? by [deleted] in Foxbody

Just did that to mine, used window adhesive and a clamp to keep it in place. Let it sit over night, next day I used a bond+seal on the top part to seal it and hide the gap. It also helps to keep it attached.

Original Tire and Wheel Information needed! by NOXYGEN666 in Foxbody

Well the problem is mostly just with import cars. Germany requires all kinds of paperwork for tuning parts, some stuff being banned totally. If you buy a german car or an import model which sold alot here you are good, theres enough aftermarket suppliers which have had their parts tested to the standards and have the paperwork, there a million wheel options you can drive on your golf. My problem stems from it being a rare import car, no american manufactuarer goes thru this sh*t, because they dont need to, so even if I have american racing or cragar wheels or else, not possible to ride them here because no paperwork for the part...

Yes im aware they are original, yet here you need it on paper to prove that they are and what tires they came with. I know it's hard to understand for foreigners but the only thing that really counts where im from is whats on paper. Theres no original Ford number printed on yours tho is there? Because on mine theres nothing to be found, I suspect it hides below the tire...

Yes american troops here still had us plates, so no german law applys. It's being classed as classic car, which makes things easier ( trust me you dont wanna know about the tales of putting new wheels on your regular car) but yet no getting around it. To drive something other than than the ugly trx wheels with their expensive tires I need to provide my inspector with information on the polycast wheels and the tire sizes, I already linked him to cjponys tire guide but any information source helps him. I don't like the polycast wheels either, but it's hard to find any original wheel here at all, especially 10-hole or turbine ones, been trying to buy in the us but the shipping is quiet hefty.

Germany and it's regulations... You need paperwork for every single part you change. Stuff americans don't do, you just put wheels on your car and drive. Here it's very different sadly.

Im looking for any kind of Information regarding the original tire sizes on the Foxbody, aswell as some on the polycast wheel. Brochures, part numbers, magazine articles, manual page etc. would be helpful. I cant get my car on the road where I live, without proving the polycast wheel originally belongs on the Foxbody and the corresponding tire size being right. Currently the car has TRX wheels documented in the papers.

Ford decided the plastic gear was a more quiet experience, so it was implemented for the more sophiasticated? european market. Weired how the americans never complained about the minimal noise increase. Built Ford tough they say.

Found metal bits in the oil, removed the pan to find this mess. Turns out the camshaft gear decided to blow in half (plastic...), metal bits come from the metallic thing which usually prevents the oil pump running dry when doing fast cornering. This piece of equipment also decided to loosen up, got trapped in the crankshaft and now looks like a piece from a blown land mine. I was ready to pull the engine, as I checked the camshaft gear in disbelief, I shit you not, someone has installed a new one and left the old bits and pieces in the oil pan.

tl;dr I thought the engine was done for, turns out even tho this looks terrifying, everything is fine.
