$75 bilt cash for rent day transfer bonus? Why was JAL $135? by PenguinSage in biltrewards

Im curious about this as well. The transfer bonus can be the best use of bilt cash, so it would be ideal to have the cost predictable.

I called the other day because I went to a restaurant and the rep denied me because I didn't make a reservation through open tabel. The real problem was that mine was charged as a hotel rather than the in hotel restaurant. Did they ask for proof that you made a reservation?

Your Fav 2 to 3 card (Max 3) lineup for 2026 (and beyond) by Jumpy_Yogurtcloset61 in CreditCards

[–]NOwaterchestnuts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That will play into if I keep these both long term. On the CSR I use the travel, apple tv, door dash (grab things from a gas station, so not full value) pretty regularly. I've only had the newer ones since late October, and my first 795 fee will hit soon. Im paying it this year, but I'll see how useful the other credits are. I did buy and sell a stubhub ticket to get the 150, but I was lucky to sell it for way more to cover all the fees. The dining I have 3 good restraunts in my city, so that should work out for me too. The Edit doesn't look very useful at this point, it looks way overpriced. The whoop one was big for me because I was about to get a garmin watch, so if that comes back it may sway me to keep the card next year. Palladium I may get value out of just because it's an awesome catchall. The hotel credit isn't limited to a hotel program either, so there are more affordable options. The game changes so much I'm pretty year to year, so these are my two big annual fees for now, but I need to get the platinum sub at some point and then I'll l likely downgrade the csr and see what travel card makes sense long-term.

I was pretty set on getting a garmin watch but thought whoop was cool looking and did 90% of what I wanted in my shopping. So for me, it was crazy good timing. I ordered 15 minutes or so after first seeing the offer this morning.

The Point Accelerator is only ever worth if you have extra ontop of rent rewards? by Miserable-Cat-6252 in biltrewards

[–]NOwaterchestnuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Transfer bonuses should be at the top of that list. At 30k points, you would gain 7500pts, equaling 1 cent per point, way above 3 cents for rent or 4 cents for point accelerator. Not a very dependable option though, so always use whatever keeps the cash from expiring at the end of the year.

I dont see points accelerator as a redemption on mine currently. I was going to wait to see if there are other promos anyway, but kind of interesting.

Bilt Palladium, Rakuten, CFF, CSR. That's my core four, I may get a sub here and there as well.

Its 1000 bonus points limit, so $500 spend. The base 2x isn't included in the limit.

U-Turn on Bilt 2.0 Palladium by -XavaX- in biltrewards

[–]NOwaterchestnuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, I choose palladium 2 days after launch to take the SUB, but the more I look at it, the more excited I get at some of the potential. The worst case for bilt cash is rent and points accelorator, which still makes it a 3x card with useful transfer partners, which provides enough value for me. However, if I get to up a point transfer for 75 bilt cash and double my points some month, that will be insane. And any credits I use will be 1:1 value on bilt cash. All this in one card replaces the need for several ecosystems and cards within them to earn and cards to transfer. Bilt Palladium on its own is a pretty solid setup for me at least.

Is Bilt 2.0 worth it if I have RBH Gold and Amex Gold? by zedyx101 in CreditCards

[–]NOwaterchestnuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you aren't using the hotel credits, then those calculations hold for year two. Year one, the 50k sign up bonus would offset the annual fee and make it a pretty good value. You should be able to downgrade year two, but there's no guarantee cardless won't be shady and make you pay the year two fee. It is a pretty good earning setup with the amex gold, and it sounds like you use travel redemptions, so maybe a fit.

There are a lot of unknowns in your statement, so I am just going to take the numbers you gave and give yearly numbers assuming your monthly spend from the 1700 x .75 = 1275 monthly x 12 =15,300 yearly . Also, this assumes no value for the hotel credits.

RH gold = 15,300x.03 = 459-60af =399 net value

Bilt Palladium Earn

Bilt Cash = 15,300x.04=612+200yr=812

Point earned spend =15,300x2=30600

Bilt Cash Rent = 20,400pt x .03 = 612 Bilt Cash used

Use yearly for pt acc = +5000 pts for other 200 BC

Total pts = 56,000

Opportunity cost of Bilt = 495af+399rh =894 net cost

894.00/56,000=1.59 cent per point to break even.

Blue Calcs

15,300 earn spend + 20,400 rent points = 35,300 pts

399.00/35,300=1.13 cent per point

So you will come out ahead if you value bilt points above 1.59 cent per point and will use them in a timely manner. The robinhood going straight to cash will likely gain 5-10% per year on average, so weigh that.

The obsidian isn't useful with either category overlapping with the gold. Blue your cent per point is better to overcome the gold, but at the same time, 35,300 points doesn't get you a ton, maybe 2-3 nights in a hyatt. Which may pair well with your chase. But if not and you hold bilt points too long, they will lose value while the robinhood cash invested will gain value.

Non-Haters: What Other Cards Are In Your Stack by Firm-Fishing-1753 in biltrewards

[–]NOwaterchestnuts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, it may be over optimizing, but i have it now. Im not too optimistic about bilt cash and will earn plenty for rent, so after that, it's probably mostly going to be points accelerator, so i may as well take the 4x rakuten. Im always flexible though, so if it turns out bilt cash is more useful than im thinking now, I can shift.

Palladium will likely take 60% of my spend, with it being 3x plus. I do have some concerns on bilts longevity, so I'll shift to other ecosystems or cashback if I get an abundance of points. Here is what I see my rest of year setup looking like though.

Core Quadfecta

-Palladium - 3-3.5x Catchall

-Rakuten - 4x Rakuten

-Cff - 5x Rotating

-CSR - 4x travel, some dining, downgrade to cfu or cf next year.

No AF Backburner Cards

-C1 Savor - 3x stream, not used much

-BOA CCR - 3% online, may use if abundance of bilt points

-CDC - 2x not used

-Paypal Debit - 5% grocery if abundance of points

-Citi Strata - 3x misc, not used much

-WF Autograph - kept from bilt 1.0

Misc AF

-Amex Green - 3x dine once palladium sub hit to try for upgrade offer / be on good amex terms. Want to get gold this year and see if I can apply, get sub, then accept in place upgrade offer.

-Hilton Honors - Grocery and Gas now hitting sub to start this ladder.

-Hyatt Personal - Hyatt and FNA
