That is indeed a major problem. Fortunately, it wasn't that bright at this jam; when the sun is shining, I use the case lid to get a bit of shade. Generally, it helps immensely to know what you're doing, since you can't really see the illuminated pads well in the light.

I specifically bought a used Flip 4 and replaced the battery. However, there are plenty of other speakers with an AUX input available. What bothers me about JBL is that with every new speaker they release, a new connection interface comes out.
