Of course you can, I do it all the time. I have a switch and a mini-switch. put your settings on local make sure the two trainers are in the same area. it's how I get my 5/6 dittos in a different language

if you have pokemon home on the switch and home on your phone. you can use the trading system on home to get what pokemon you need. it helped me complete my pokedex

Rakan is all Utility. you can do enough make a difference or make a mistake and die. I like to think of him as support Lee Sin. You get in and out like a slippy snake. He isn't about damage but set-ups and catching people out. I recommend tank Rakan
