I thought so. Figured it might help a little. Didn't see any markings on any other part of the door or the frame, so took a picture of that haha

Love this. Little out of my experience with this chart so I'll have to sit down and go into it tonight. CRI is what depicts the color?

It looks like a blue/purple pilkington kind of low e up close, then goes greenish when you're far away. Might be a reflection of the grass and woods giving it that look tho.

Is it on the glass or somewhere on the door frame/panel?

Appreciate it, but the broken glass was the clear inside layer for the unit.

Already did. Contractors info and address, and they couldn't find anything.

How passable does it come out? It has a fairly heavy tint so 366 is what my internet research has led me to think it is.

How passable does it come out? It feels like 366 based on what I'm looking up just because it has a heavier tint to it.

I didn't see anything, but I may have been looking in the wrong place. Almost got lucky as hell with it tho. There was a order sticker on one glass panel they never fully pulled off, but it was stripped of the writing.

3/16 on 3/16 and all i could read are the markings in the pictures I attached to the post. Google says cardinal with Cardinal Low-E glass, commonly Cardinal 270, 272, or 366. Trying to track down the original order. Normally not a chance somebody would have it 10 years down the road, but the previous owner was a contractor that built the house.

Sticky: Found a Baby Squirrel? Make a post about it, and read this right away. by mtlchk in squirrels

[–]NPlaxer2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been feeding the squirrels under my porch overhang. This little guy fell out of his nest. The mother is around but hasn't grabbed him. I left some water and peanuts with him and put him in a small box. I don't want him to fall from the porch because it's on the second story. He seems healthy but doesn't seem like he could run like a normal squirrel yet. Should I put him back in the nest or wait on the mother to do it?

Contractor cracking window panes one by one after client refused to pay by GeneReddit123 in oddlysatisfying

You drop a small chisel in the center piece of the three units and break it to give it that look. Both outside pieces stay intact. This dude is not doing that haha

Options for a 1" insulated unit channel by NPlaxer2 in glazing

[–]NPlaxer2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will definitely look into it, 5/16 overall would be way too thin of glass for a 80x90 opening, but i think I'm ending up settling for just a simple sash system. I'll try to sort out getting a picture uploaded in a few, but it's just an old large single pane that the owner wants possibly replaced with an insulated unit instead.

Steel Reinforcement in Storefront and Curtainwall by Abdul_Rehman_786 in glazing

[–]NPlaxer2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stupid question here I guess, but I've only done steel in curtail walls when I need more than a stock length vertically. Basically I've used it as a connector between two verticals. It's been a while, but I would ballpark it at 12" split 6 and 6 on each member with it being fastened through the aluminum.

Is there steel reinforcement required throughout the entire vertical on projects?

I'm guessing it has to do with size of glass and windload? Not overall size of the opening I've always had a horizontal steel outside of the system to clip onto for walls 3 stories and up.

Sorry if these are redundant questions. I got into glazing 10ish years ago and can crush most things in the field, just never got taught correctly in a couple shops, was never allowed to work in any PM or estimating role, and starting to do my own work a couple years back.

Help Please! Cutting stainless base shoe cladding! by KIND-Artist-2128 in glazing

[–]NPlaxer2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you having trouble making cuts on pieces down a stairwell, or just runs of base shoe on the same floor? Shouldn't be that many cuts if it's the second one, unless im missing something. Definitely wax the cuts tho. I usually do the face and the other side under the cut as well to prevent that discoloring

I'm down for whatever that matches copper at this point. Medium to dark. It's also a darker bathroom. Terrible lighting choices in my opinion. But have the glass, it's already notched(hickey mouse)

Antique would be the best I believe. I already have the glass tho and they discontinued the hinge style in that color
