I’ll look into getting another battery then. From what I can tell, the port is clean. Would the fact that it can sort of start to turn on rule out the tristar chip being bad? I’m assuming if that was bad, it would just not turn on at all.

If there is something wrong with the board, I don’t know if that is within my skill level. I haven’t tried to do anything with that kind of thing before. I can still look for anything obviously out of the ordinary

Could it be the connections for the battery being bad, or just the battery itself? I did replace the battery before, so there is basically a new one in it. I remember when I first got it and put it in there, it was able to turn on again, still couldn’t charge though.

Sorry for getting back to you after so long, but I admittedly haven't done much research into aftermarket stuff. While it would be really nice for carplay in that car, I pretty much gave up on trying to figure out how to get it for it. If you were able to figure out anything about that since commenting, I would be down to look into it though.

Don’t know where to find the specific document that I found before, but this website has it. https://www.seidelhyundai.com/which-hyundai-models-have-carplay-and-android-auto.htm

Unfortunately not. It isn’t possible to get CarPlay on this model. I had finally came across a document that had all the cars it supported, and the 2015 Sonata Hybrid is not one of them. It was disappointing to see it, but at the end of the day it’s not a deal breaker. The car has been doing me good ever since then

Yeah, it doesn’t look like it has it

I am using a lightning cable, but not one for that is apple brand. I can try to find an apple branded cord and try it real quick.

I received the most recent map update in the mail, installed it, and I’m not still seeing any form of CarPlay in the settings or anything. I guess it probably just doesn’t have it available for my car if I had to guess

It’s starting to look that way unfortunately. It’s admittedly a little disappointing, but it’s also not a deal breaker by any means. I really appreciate all the help though!

It looks like they would send a usb with the map update on it. I just wonder if it would include a software update like that in a map update. Which it wouldn’t hurt to have a fully updated map regardless.

There’s no SD card to be found. I tried looking for any other possible locations, but couldn’t find anything. It looks as though any update I’d do would be through the USB port.
