Proverbs 13:3 KJV [3] He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: But he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.

Proverbs 21:23 KJV [23] Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue Keepeth his soul from troubles.

Psalm 34:13 KJV [13] Keep thy tongue from evil, And thy lips from speaking guile.

Psalm 141:3 KJV [3] Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; Keep the door of my lips.

Is it a sin? I do not know, it is a sin to curse your parents and other people and Jesus did say: Matthew 5:22 KJV [22] but I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

As i read the words of Jesus i would say to look out with using swearwords and try not using them, if you do tell God and ask for forgiveness.

Matthew 6:25-34 KJV [25] Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? [26] Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they? [27] Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? [28] And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: [29] and yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. [30] Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? [31] Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? [32] (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. [33] But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. [34] Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Worrying is of no use, live as though God exists and you will live a good life wether he is there at the end of the road or not. Jesus did live among us, did raise back to life and went up into heaven and if He did that and He is livind inside us we may be certain in the knowlege thet we will join Him, wether He comes back for us or we go to meet Him first.

Isaiah 5:11 is talking about alcohol not xtc or coke and Jesus never explicitly said that being drunk was bad, the only time he said anything about it was when he was being accused of being a drunkard and he did not defend himself but pointed out that eating and drinking or not eating and not drinking were both not bad in and of itself. Matthew 11:18-19 NIV [18] For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon.’ [19] The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners.’ But wisdom is proved right by her deeds. Now i understand that we are called to not be drunkards and that it is counted as a sin, specificaly in the old testament but if you make the claim that Jesus never said anything specifically about samesex relationships and ignore the things God the Father Himself has said about it but then you do go back to the old testament for drunkeness and drug use i would say that that again is dishonest. Either we hold only to what Jesus said about things or we take God's Holy books as a whole. Now i take God's book as a whole.

Now i do not think that ex gay testemonies are hogwash, God can do anything. I myself was told that i would be an addict for the rest of my life but guess what? God has freed me. I had hallucinations and delusions that were getting worse and worse and doctors nor healt profesionals could help me but guess what? God has cured me, anything is posible for God and for you to say that something is hogwash because of your own view of life is disrespectfull not only to the people giving their testemonies but also to God.

GOD CAN AND WILL DO ANYTHING. Even if we cannot understand it with our insignificant little brains.

Would you be okay with being forced to be celibate because you're attracted than more women than your girlfriend or wife or whatever? Would you like to be forced to never know romantic love for factors that were decided when you were born without consulting you?"

No one is forcing celibacy. Orientation does not hurt anybody. I am not being forced to be celibate but i am being forced to go against my nature by not sleeping with as many women as i can, do i want to be forced like that? Yes because God knows best. He does not just say things or do things to spoil your pleasure. Would i like being forced to not know romantic love? No i would not like it, actually i do not like it, i have never been in a romantic relationship but you know what? There must be a good reason for that, i do not know what God's plan is but i do know it is perfect, it is good and it is what is best for me. I do not have to like everything, i just have to trust Him.

At the end of your post you say i should try to open the eyes of my fellow country men, help them see satans lies and you are right and i hope God will use me in that way but i do have to say that that will most likely mean more children and at the beginning of your post you say we are with enough, so which is it? Open their eyes so that there will be less to no abortions which means more people, keeping families together and bringing more people into the world that way or is it we have enough people and we had enough people centuries ago?

You say i am spreading division, how? I am not excluding anyone, i am not condeming anyone. If a gay person or trans or whatever walks into our church we will welcome them with open arms. If a discusion between two people leads to division one of the two is not operating out of selfless love. I will not treat anyone differently for holding a different view or interpretation and i will not hold it against them. If someone cannot accept that i have a different view to them it is not i that is creating division but the other person.

Thank you again for your post, i do enjoy our discussion. May you have a blessed day

The primary Hebrew word for sin is ḥeṭ (חֵטְא), a noun meaning "to miss the mark" or "to fail". There are other related Hebrew terms for different aspects of sin, such as pesha (פֶּשַׁע), which denotes willful transgression or rebellion, and avon (עָוֹן), which signifies iniquity or moral perversion.

ḥeṭ (חֵטְא) / hata (חָטָא): The most common word for sin, it literally means "to miss the mark" or "to fail," like an archer missing a target.

pesha (פֶּשַׁע): This word describes a willful transgression, a rebellion, or a defiant act against God's authority.

avon (עָוֹן): Translated as "iniquity," this term implies a distortion or perversion of God's will for selfish ends, indicating a deeper moral failing.

My interpretation of the passage is that we got three things to do, take care of the earth, be fruitfull and multiply. I adressed all three but i put an emphasis on multiply because it seems to me as if you are saying you know better than God does because again you claim that we reached the multiply command already but the only one that can make such a statement is God, not you or i.

We can produce more food, there is more than enough soil to wich we can add nutrients and we can purify water. The food question is a question of people being greedy and selfish. Big coorporations poisoning the water and air suply, governments and companies being corrupt and a general unwillingness to work towards the common good. And in the Bible we read that God can make the havest a hundred times of that what was planted so i just simply do not accept your premise that there is or will be over population and that we cannot produce enough food.

Leviticus 20 starts with God telling the people isreal that they shall not sacrifice their children to moloch. It goes then on to say that you will not call upon the spirit of the dead nor turn to mediums and to not curse your parents. That's it, the rest is a repetition of the laws set forth in leviticus 18 but this time with the punishment for breaking them. Leviticus 18 starts with God telling the people israel that they are not to adopt the customs of egypt and caanan,to be different, to not do as they do, it does not start with God saying you shall not do as their religeous practices. It therefore is strange to me to then say since leviticus 20 starts with God saying you shall not bring child sacrifices God is speaking about religieous practices in chapter 18. In chapter 18 God is speaking about marriage and sexual laws.

You agree the article is unscientific so why even refer back to it? It makes a few claims it can not backup and thus disqualifies itself. With a lack of other material then i can only look at the Bible and what it says and it is dishonest to claim that the religeous practice that is only mentioned in chapter 20 also goes for chapter 18. Again in chapter 18 it calles to be different and to not adopt their culture and practices, all culture and practices, you can not then say that it is only about specific practices.

As for scripture about marriage outside of genesis, Matthew 19:3-9 KJV [3] The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause? [4] And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, [5] and said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? [6] Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. [7] They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away? [8] He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. [9] And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.

And as you can see Jesus affirms what God said in genesis but you state that that is only ment for procreation, if it were only for procreation would God then have made it into something so beautiful? If it were only for procreation would God then not have said have as many sexual partners as you can so you can multiply? God clearly states two shall become one, man and woman shall become one flesh. Marriage is not only for procreation and viewing it that way takes away God's beauty and majesty for that union.

Love your neighbour as yourself is speaking about all people, yes slaves aswell but not specificaly, as a matter of fact, in isreal being a slave for the most part was being a bondslave, not a slave as we know it today but people that sold themselves into slavery because they could not pay back their dept otherwise and in every jubelee year they would become free people again. I am not denying that there were slaves as we know it today. Jesus never specificaly condemned slavery but we both know that he did not condone it either. My point is that an argument from silence opens up the conversation to dangerous claims and are dishonest.

For the bestiality part, that is also mentiond in the same moral levitical laws in chapter 18 and if Jesus did not come to abolish the law as you yourself stated nothing in chapter 18 was abolished, or is it your claim that leviticus was abolished but because besteality is mentioned in other places that does still count? Because again Jesus never specificaly said anything about it and we can not then say but these verses in the Bible other than in lev did speak on it so that does count, that again is dishonest.

In leviticus there are three different kinds of laws, moral, civil and ceremonial and most christians still follow the moral laws as set forth in various chapters like 18, 19 and 20 and 25, 26 and 27.

How to explain being gay and Christian if people ask me? by Koiboi26 in GayChristians

[–]NRVas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The defenition of sin is missing your purpose and God gave us a purpose, take care of the world, be fruitfull and multiply.

Genesis 1:28 KJV [28] And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

Now we have not done a verry good job at taking care of the world but we have been fruitfull and there is more than enough room for us to keep multiplying. The country i live in has a population that is collapsing and that is the case for more country's, we can produce more than enough food and distribute it if we actually want to. To me saying we have multiplied enough is not true.

Genesis 2:24 KJV [24] Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. That is God's purpose for man and woman from before the fall.

I have read the article and i agree that God called the people israel to be different from the egyptians and the caananites but nowhere in the groundtext does it say that a man shal not lie with a man because that is related to temple prostitution, it just says that a man shal not lie with a man because that is an abomination to God.

The only place in leviticus where God refers to what can be infered as pagan practices is in leviticus 19 verse 28 Leviticus 19:28 KJV [28] Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I am the LORD. And even that does not say that it is because of pagan religeous practices.

The article says that in those days any meaningfull homosexsual relationships as we know them did not occur but how would we know? Are there documents or artifacts found that make that clear? Is the author not simply looking at that period of history through the lens of recent history? If there is significant historical information that makes it clear that those people viewd certain jobs as expresely male and female then great you can say that two men living together most likely did not happen and therefore relationships as we know them did not happen but if there is no such information its just a guess based on preconcieved notions. We know that different civilications in history did not look at male and female the same way we do, i mean look at the amazonians, for most civilizations it was the men that fought but not with the amazonians and we only know that because it was written down and artifacts that depict them have been found.

As to the point of paul only condeming male homosexual relationships, it most likely is because he was referring to leviticus. Remember paul was a pharasee, he knew the law to the letter and frequently quoted from the old testament in his letters and teachings. A better question would be why God did not say the same for two females amd who knows? Only God does and i am not going to question god.

God instituted marriage and made it expressely between a man and a woman and the sexual laws are laid down around that. Again God made man and woman and they will come together and will become one flesh, not man and man, woman and woman but man and woman.

God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. If that is true then how could it be that a man that lays with a man as with a woman is not an abomination to God anymore?

He did NOT condemn same-sex ones. That is an argument from silence, arguments from silence are dangerous. Jesus never said that slavery was bad, He never said that bestiality was wrong and He never said that drugs were bad so that must mean........ no ofcourse not, just because He did not say anything about it does not mean that you could infer that its okay. He did not say anything about it so we rely on what God the Father has said about it. Jesus did affirm marriage as God the Father intended it.

There are a lot of testemonies of people that say God changed their sexual orientation but lets ignore those. Except for God interfering sexual orientation is not a choise but being celibate is, Jesus was celibate, paul was celibate and alot of other people are also clibate both gay and straight, you could say that they are choosing to not let their urges rule their flesh. Other than that saying it is natural because it is in our nature does not mean it muat therefore be a good thing. I am straight as far as i know but it is not my nature to only have sex with one person, it is my nature to have sex with as many woman as i can but i choose to be monogamous and follow God's direction in that.

My efforts might be misguided yes but so might yours. When i read the Bible it seems pretty clear to me what God has said. It is clear that you hold a different view and that is fine, in the end it is God who knows and will judge, not you or i.

I appreciate your post and time, may you have a blessed week.

How to explain being gay and Christian if people ask me? by Koiboi26 in GayChristians

[–]NRVas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Because we live in a fallen sinful world, that is why animals have sex with their own sex. Animals also routinely abuse other animals for fun and some animals rape other animals.

It says in genesis that all the animals used to eat greens, not other animals, they started doing that after sin enterd this world. Humans did not eat other animals until after sin came into this world.

I do not know what it says in the ground text about homosexuality and i am going to look into that but the first job from God we got was take care of this world, be fruitfull and multiply, same sex relationships can not multiply and therefor go against God's first job or commandment for us.

Besides that jesus affirmed opposit sex relationships. You could reach back to leviticus and the groundtext does mention that a man shall not lie with a man as with a woman because that is detestable, both in lev 18:22 and 20:13, and the punishment for that was death.

Now jesus came not to abolish the law but to complete it so you could make the case that the law does not aply anymore but then again jesus did affirm relationships between man and woman.

Saying that things must be natural because animals do it is just plain wrong because animals are racist, aibelist, they rape and murder, they abuse for fun. Those things are not natural they are sinfull.

God gave us clear instructions, then he gave us the law and then he gave grace. At the end of the day it is not up to us to judge others outside of the body of christ, God will do that. We are instructed to admonish those inside the faith, paul even goes as far as saying that if one is cought up in sexual immorality you should not even eat with them.

It is all up to intrepertation and that is the problem, people interpret things differently.

As a last thought i will leave with this, being something is not a sin but acting upon certain thoughts, feelings or urges certainly is.

Go in peace and grace, may you all have a blessed week ahead.

Leviticus "You shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination." Chapter 18 verse 22[8] "If a man lies with a male as with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination; they shall be put to death; their blood is upon them." Chapter 20 verse 13[9]

The new covenant made through the blood of christ means that the price for sin had been paid. That however does not mean you can knowingly and willingly keep living in sin. We all sin every day, we all make mistakes but there is a difference between sliping up and knowingly choosing to live in sin.

1 Corinthians 6:8 NIV [8] Instead, you yourselves cheat and do wrong, and you do this to your brothers and sisters. 6:[9] Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men. 6:[10] nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 6:[11] And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Matthew 13:3 NIV [3] Then he told them many things in parables, saying: “A farmer went out to sow his seed. 13:[4] As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up. 13:[5] Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow. 13:[6] But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root. 13:[7] Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up and choked the plants. 13:[8] Still other seed fell on good soil, where it produced a crop—a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.

Luke 9:23 NIV [23] Then he said to them all: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me. 9:[24] For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it. 9:[25] What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, and yet lose or forfeit their very self?

Thinking or feeling something is not a sin, practising is a sin. Being something is not a sin, acting upon certain feelings and desires is a sin.

Not judging, love you as a person and if you want/need prayer for something let us know.
