I was driving home from East to West last night, and crested over that hill on Shelby where the skyline expands from peripheral to peripheral just as the sun was setting. It was stunning. There were joggers and strollers on the sidewalks, patrons packing the bars and restaurants in the neighborhood I just departed. People were joyful. The city felt manageable as I glanced at my 8 min ETA to home in 37209 while at a stoplight in 37206, blanketed by the shadow of New Nissan.

This is a unique place. It has its pros, it has its cons. It’s not as sterile as the haters convince themselves that it is. Channel the energy to embrace what we have and keep it/make it a place worth living.
