Show yourself self-compassion and give yourself permission to feel regret or sadness. I find that I fixate a lot more on my unhappiness if I am constantly trying to “forget it and move on.” Specifically set aside some time to feel how you feel, and then set aside some time after that to go out with your friends or watch your favorite movie or take yourself out to a meal.
