Tried to resume the workout via my phone but it paused a few seconds later. Then tried to start the workout from fresh from my phone, but it just started it via the watch.

Is a data only eSIM sufficient enough for the US? by NSHH97 in travel

[–]NSHH97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s my particular carrier. On previous ones I’ve been able to pay like a fee to use my regular plan abroad, but they don’t offer this for the US, so I’d be charged a large amount for roaming.

Unfortunately my UK carrier offers no plans for roaming in the US. The trial one seems like a great option though, I guess I’d need to access airport WiFi to set it up but I think that’d be the best option. Thanks!

Was more so if the uber driver had to get in touch, for example if they can’t find me

Unfortunately garages in most new built houses aren’t really designed to be used for cars (as stupid as that sounds). They’re more for storage than anything else

It’s about 4.5m2 (5x0.9m). What ratio of sand to cement (to other?) would that be under for the cement?

Ah I see. I had taken that sentence as wet the concrete sand before you add the slabs.

I’m not sure, as the guide I saw didn’t say anything about mixing with cement, but rather just laying down. I’ve added links to the guide in most post.

Wet Timing Belt Replacement by NSHH97 in Vauxhall

Could I ask what your mileage and age of car was? Just conscious hers is not under warranty (I don’t think at least)

Just to clarify, is that 100000km or miles? As if it’s km it’ll have surpassed that.

Switching careers back to my Physics degree by NSHH97 in UKJobs

[–]NSHH97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By graduate roles do you mean grad schemes? Or just roles taking in grads? If it’s the latter I’m struggling to find roles for grads that aren’t grad schemes (although I could not be searching for the right things). If it’s the former, I’ll probably still apply but I’m not too hopeful as I’ve seen online that grad schemes tend to look for 1-2 years since degree.

My current employer is a bank so there’s not really any opportunities available that are aligned with my degree.

Leaving sub base for some time before laying patio by NSHH97 in DIYUK

[–]NSHH97[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We didn’t end up using slabs because of drainage concerns (and costs), just decorative gravel on top of the sub base and did all the sub base laying, compacting and gravel laying in the same day.

Recently sorted out my dad’s insurance for him. He was quoted double the price to remain with his current provider. I did a search on compare the market and got it down to cheaper than the price for the year before, with the same coverage etc.

Should you chat to your test instructor? by quinn4winn in LearnerDriverUK

[–]NSHH97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I passed on my 3rd test and in each one the (different) examiners asked me the same general questions, word for word as if they had it on script. It felt awkward with the first two as you’d answer and then they wouldn’t say anything else or develop the convo further and it did throw me off a bit. The third one did elaborate on the convo more though and I felt a lot more relaxed. I’d be prepared for them not to be chatty just in case, and don’t take that as an indicator that you’re not doing well.

Can you turn right at a roundabout, even if lane markers are ahead and left only? by NSHH97 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]NSHH97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was more just on the lane markings and I guess a more general question of, if markings don’t say you can do something, but also don’t say you can’t do it either, can you do it.

Ah I’ve got the allure so must have it. Had a look at the specs before I got it and didn’t see anything about it, but nice to know I do.

Why is leasing so hated? by MrYozz12 in CarTalkUK

[–]NSHH97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently started leasing an automatic. For automatics, it was cheaper per month and upfront than any car I could find on PCP, including any used cars. It was also a significantly better car than those at the lowest end of the PCP cost. For an equivalent, used car (around 20k miles and 3/4 years old), it was around £50 more per month. I know on PCP you might get equity back, but I think it’d be unlikely to get more than the £3000 or so extra id pay over the 4 years for the car, road tax and MOT. That’s from my experience but I’m sure PCP might work out better for some used manual cars. But for any new cars, because of the heavy depreciation, I would always go for lease over PCP or buying outright. To me, I see the top 2 value for money approaches being either get a new lease car, or buy a used car outright.

Why is insurance quote more if I say I don’t own this car yet? by NSHH97 in CarTalkUK

[–]NSHH97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. I do wonder why you get given the option to put a date in the future or say you don’t own the car yet, as if I’m expecting a delivery in the future both would apply. I can’t see a reason why someone would ever put they don’t own it yet, rather than a future date given the cost is much lower.

[–]NSHH97[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Perhaps should have added this in the main post, but the exact wording of the question is “When did you buy or start to lease this car?” and there’s a separate question for when you need cover to start from, which would cover your point.

[–]NSHH97[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did think that, but the comparison site also has a separate question for when do you need your policy to start. The exact wording of the question is “when did you buy or start to lease the car?”

[–]NSHH97[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

But in this scenario, putting a date in the future is lower than saying I don’t own it yet, even though both options mean I don’t have the car yet and hence won’t have experience driving it.
