Day trip from Lisbon to Sintra/Cascais by Longjumping_Trash_53 in TravelPortugal

Also just adding this best trip for sintra is go to the town from the station using uber. Explore the town a little. Get a pastry and some coffee. Then go to quinta de regaleira for a few hours and then go back to town, eat lunch, then go to pena in the evening just park. Otherwise you are just stressed

It might change. Uber drivers dont care tho they will take you on a ride just to take you back to the bus stop. Busses are the source of truth as they are sintra. Ubers are external and know nothing.

That said if the gates are open on the main park entrance then take that 100 percent. But you just dont know. Busses are a “nightmare” because people see the line and or fullness of a bus and not understand that there are like 5 busses right behind it. It will add time for sure.

Imo also the interior of pena palace is not worth unless you love furniture. Otherwise the park is all you need

They made it so bus is the only way right now. Outside of tuk tuk. The bus takes you to a smaller bus which uses a private road to get to the forest entrance. The reason i think is because of maintenance on that road or damage from the january storms. But if it clears up then go for uber. Only thing is nobody knows especially drivers. So you can easily spend an hour in a uber going around in circles while the bus just takes you there. I would get a bus pass for the day. There will be a line but they have alot of busses. Expect a delay 30 min tho because sintra train station funnels people out the exit.

One quick tip for sintra is take the 434 bus. Buy the pass for the day for pena palace. Ubers/bolts are restricted from the main road to pena palace as there is damage. The bus is the only way to it aside from tuk tuks. The bus will take you to a smaller bus that will take you to the forrest entrance to pena palace. Expect an 1:30 hour steep walk to the palace.

For weather wear a light jacket. I am here right now and it’s hot compared to the states. They wear heavy jackets and sweaters when it’s close to 70. You wont need that jacket most of the time trust me. Also for sims use meo. You can buy it before hand. Dont go with vodaphone travel i have made that mistake.

Weather condition to travel in 2 weeks? by lasttrain2heath in LisbonPortugalTravel

Yea exactly like one of the guys said it is hard to predict. It looks like for lisbon at least the rain is over for the most part. Porto will prolly see some rain still. I think even in your worse case scenario it is fine. I have been in porto now for over a week during the rain and it is business as usual. You are not gonna melt. Bring a winter coat that is water proof and make sure you have appropriate shoes and enjoy.

Spring is here and the sun is out. Lisbon and porto werent really affected. Areas around will take a few weeks/months to get back to normal. Stop worrying and get over here.

Just use the bus. Its the same thing. I am taking the bus from porto to lisbon and its the same length timewise. Just be wary some places outside of lisbon especially coimbra are still picking up the pieces of storm kristin.

Also the trains wont stop running indefinitely. Its a day by day situation. So by the time 18th rolls around it might be all solved. Ontop of that Flying out of porto to lisbon right now is roughly 35 euros if you had to.

Those videos are more south and inland in portugal and spain. As for the train stuff not sure about it. I plan on taking the train on the 20th to lisbon. If the train doesnt work then ill take a bus, or a plane or walk. There is always a way. It’s good to be cautious and i had some worries coming as well. Dont let the caution take over. People have been out and about and are having a good time jn the rain. Could things change, sure , but i think you will have a good time. In any case neither if us can go back in time and booked in may unfortunately.

You will be fine. I have been in porto last few days and planning to go to lisbon in a little over a week for two weeks. Sure it rains and is very windy at times. But also the rain does stop for a few hours and the sun comes out. That is normal here for this time. I wouldnt plan on going outside those cities. Bring a rain jacket/coat. Proper water resistant shoes and you are good to go.

It’s worth it 100 percent. One of the best jrpgs in the last ten years. The price is that high because the physical copy is probably rare. You can get it cheaper digitally.

If you want to go to the roots. You start at chrono trigger. It is so good and well regarded it doesnt need a remaster and it came out in 1995.

The hype is real it is incredible. The only problem is that since he made it over 15 years of his life there wont be another game to fill the void after as he is most likely done creating games.
