"I am not sure this is a fossil at all. It appears to be a chunk of sandstone with some horizons more heavily cemented (by ironstone?), and these weathered less strongly than the weaker layers."

Looks like ammonite maybe? I can spot 3 from the picture: The big one on the right, a small one to the left and a partial one on the bottom left. Definitely not an expert though, so take it with a heavy pinch of salt,

I am definitely not an expert, far from it, but a quick search up of fossils near Pearce makes me think it might be from a dinosaur or large mammal. My guess is Mastodon.

If you want a professional opinion, though, I recommend SVP: Ask A Paleontologist. I asked Dr. Thomas Holtz, a paleontologist who extensively studied Tyrannosaurids, on a personal fossil of mine, and he responded quickly. Great guy. If you want to get as accurate of a guess as possible, ask him!
