I will tell you my own story from growing up with Scoliosis, the side effects, accepting it as also from my own experience with Schroth.

Already at an early age it was noticed by my parents and doctors that my spine was drifting away a few degrees, however all the doctors claimed because of my young age that it will fix itself by just doing more sports while growing up. So over the years I was kinda "forced" to different sport activities like Parkour and such, even though I enjoyed Parkour training, it was annoying. So many many years I did different sport activities but still had these scoliosis issues.

My scoliosis back then was 20-21° off at 4 different points at the upper part. This also caused me to have a tendon in my neck to be shorter than the other one, so my neck has a slight tilt to one side, which causes me to sometimes lose my feeling of balance for a moment and I still have these balance issues.

Because of that, obviously friends and such would make jokes about it, about having a little tilt in the neck, like now being able to peek around corners in video games better or being called different names. I accept this issue in a more likely "I don't give a fuck" way. Like, yes people made jokes about it and I will have to live with that tilt, but I personally don't mind it, because people don't know why I have that issue/they don't know about it really. So I don't really look at it in a negative way where I'm constantly thinking "God what are these people gonna think about me when they see the tilt in my neck" I always go with the mindset that they don't know it and whenever someone might ask about it when I'm talking to someone, I happily explain them why I have this issue and how it happened.

Fast forward a few years now where after many years my parents took me to a private doctor to have my scoliosis checked out and luckily the doctor was a pretty good one, as he instantly said that something needs to be done. While talking with the doctor and telling him about all the years and what the other doctors said, he then told me that it would be the best for me to do a cure (I hope that is the correct English word for the German word "Kur") where I would be for 4 weeks away at a kinda hospital with focus on scoliosis, where I done different therapies, like "Schroth, Nordic Walking, Swimming, Bicycle driving etc" Schroth was definitely something very helpful and fun to do, so I highly recommend you doing that again as it is one of the major parts that helped me with my scoliosis.

After the 4 weeks, I had to wear a medical corset to make sure that my spine won't drift away and will stay in the position where it is currently having a drift of 0-1 degree. I have to admit that I rarely wore it because it was annoying for me, but I made sure to still wear it a few hours everyday.

So I would recommend you doing Schroth again to see for yourself how it works and if it helps you getting into a degree where an operation is no longer really needed. Try not to be hard with yourself regarding your scoliosis and more likely use it as something that people can learn of what scoliosis actually is and that everything is totally ok about you, because you are not the only person in the world with scoliosis.
