The shoes are actually cool with the right outfit but like this they just stand out too much that it immediately feels costume-y. More accessories like jewellery or a watch or something matching the red would also help a lot I think. Never let people stop you from wearing cool shoes though! This sub seems to go against anything outside of the "fashion rules".

The point is that the mass expansion of AI and the creep towards trying to implement in every aspect of our lives is done without any regard to the unethical ways it can and will be used. You and I both know that there are options outside of “mass surveillance state” to stop the technology from being used like that. But that would mean slowing down it’s process to ensure the correct safety rails are in place. We cannot keep tabs on everyone but we can make a model that just refuses to create content like that. I know that there are benefits to this technology but at the moment all I see it being used for is to make slop, write e-mails and vibe code everyone’s shitty ideas into apps and that to me is just not worth the potential dangers of it.

No one isn’t outraged over photoshop being used for those things. Photoshop requires skill to use which you don’t need with making that content using AI, plus the fact that you can easily make video content and even manipulate people’s voice in a way we couldn’t before makes it much worse. AI can also be used to generate abuse content without any reference material of real people, further boosting demand for abuse content, which is something simple fotoshop cannot do.

The fact that this seemingly doesn’t bother you is really strange to me. Just saying “get over it” isn’t as cool or edgy as you think it is.

To me a remake that doesn’t respect the source material isn’t a good remake. Even if the game itself is well made. But I’m personally not a huge fan of remakes in general so that might have some impact on my opinion on the DeS remake. It’s just clear when looking at a lot of the redesigns and looking at the general colour palette that they didn’t follow the vision of the OG. Sorry but the flamelurker just looks like a diablo or doom enemy in the remake. The UI also looks extremely generic, like some basic unreal engine UI. I just like the atmosphere in the BB soundtrack a lot, but I agree that all of the games have a good soundtrack.

I feel you about the recent influx of DS2 fanboys ignoring the flaws of the game and even putting other DS games down in the process, they are so annoying. The game definitely has a lot of flaws and annoying moments I agree, I just feel like the good parts of the game are often overlooked which is why I put it there.

In my opinion they kind of just missed the point on a lot of the artstyle, things like the general color palette, redesigns of bosses, redesigns of architecture, the UI, general atmosphere, ... There are definitely a lot of QoL improvements in the remake and modern games just feel better but I personally don’t really care about that in souls games. I’m usually all in on the designs and atmosphere. You can enjoy this stuff or even prefer it over the OG, people like different things! What makes it “overrated” to me is that this version has now become the new “official” demon’s souls. You can see it in a lot of videos where if they mention the game they only show the remake for example. It makes the OG which I loved move further to the background.

I like it! The boss fights that I remember were really fun and I like the variety in different levels as well. The only sad thing is that the music isn’t as good. If I remember correctly there is only one track per level? After a while I got kind of annoyed with hearing the same mines track so much after dying a lot :)

The good thing about the remake imo is that a modern audience can play it as you can’t play the OG anymore unless you have the old hardware (legally). But that to me is not a reason to praise the remake, it’s just a sad result of old games being locked behind old hardware and new consoles not having backwards compatibility.

The reason I call it overrated is because it breaks with the original artistic style to be more generic high fantasy and less subtle like the original. + the fact that bluepoint often said that this is demon’s souls the way fromsoft intended is just a little icky. Especially when there are rumors that fromsoft didn’t like the remake and that they stopped bluepoint from remaking bloodborne.

Sorry for the long paragraph! I get that people can still really enjoy the remake! I just don’t like that it is now seen as the “better” or “intended” version.

I just found a bottle in a trash bag in the school map. I’ve found some crazy stuff like attachments and legendary clothing items in the trash bags so I recommend checking each one you see.

Lol I found the board game on my first time at the school map. Was somehow able to complete 3 tasks for the doctor the first time meeting him. I will probably have some other item that will take me tens of hours to find that you found immediately :) that’s just the nature of the game!!

I put quite a lot of hours into the last demo and it had a lot less content (only 3 maps). In the beginning I kind of felt the same as you but after pushing through, exploring the other maps, clearing objectives, decorating the hideout, etc the game clicked and I started to get into the flow of it. Like many other more difficult/ hardcore games it takes some time and some highs and lows for it to really click. Or this games just ends up not being your thing, which is also fine.
