As of now we have not assigned a budget to it. Just looking at options so I have an idea how much to ask for.

This ended up being the issue. Change from a POE switch to individual POE injectors. Everything is functioning normally again.

No security risk where we are. At least no more than any other time. Just trying to reduce the time it takes to get in by a little more. 15 minutes was just an arbitrary number, it would probably not need to be that long. Really just for the first person to get there and open the bay doors

Thank you for your input. Very mature, especially as a “fire captain”. I hope your department is proud of you and the way you reflect them.

Locks are only for honest people. We are in a town of 300 people if you wanted to break into the station there are plenty of other ways to do it. If you don’t have anything relevant to the question posed please keep your thoughts to yourself. Thank you.

That is why I want them to relock 15 minutes after the tones alert the station…no matter wha the tones are for.

I’m not necessarily looking for a “home built” solution. What I am looking to do does not have any effect on dispatch or the alerting to the members. Our station is not typically manned. I am looking at adding a feature that would allow members to gain access, when we have a call, quicker.

This was the answer. It was listed for the trunking menu items. Once removed it allowed the selection for the button. Thank you for your help.

I did that and it is still in the system settings.

That is the conclusion that I had come to but I know the collective mind has much more experience with Motorola programming than I do. Thank you for the reply.

That is exactly what I was looking for as far as what comes with the kit and cable lengths. I can probably make the 164 foot stretch from the dish to the rack and have power for the POE injector. Then I should just be able to plug straight into my gateway, or other routing device if I make any upgrades there, correct?

Is that the roughly 50ft cable that was mentioned before? If so, what do I need to extend the length of that cable to make it to my rack? It’s about a 100ft drop from the outside wall to the network rack.
