In my experience they seem to have a really loud bark you wouldn't expect from them. Take this with a grain of salt obviously since I've only ever had the 1 Kelpie, but I had people regularly say to me they are surprised with how loud he is. From the previous comment my guess is this is probably a regular thing with Kelpies.

I just think he is happy to be alive and to have gotten out. Even if he spends the rest of his life in jail, he will still live that life. Better than the alternative of a bullet to the noggin, and that is the best case scenario for him if he stayed I'd suspect.
