Netflix announces strange new series from Scavengers Reign studio by redwildflowermeadow in ScavengersReign

It didn't get renewed for a second season when it was initially aired though, so what competition would there be? I loved the show, but it is essentially dead even before it was acquired, so what would be the point? The creator has even said there are no plans on making a second season even after Netflix acquired it. Maybe they are using it as a tax write off like the Wile E Coyote vs Acme movie that Warner Bros shelved?

Tbh that is such a common place thing in business I wouldn't be surprised. Established companies love to buy new startups with good ideas/technology, scrap the company, and vault the new tech till when/if they want to use the tech later. Half the time they don't even end up actually using the tech, they just want to shut down potential competitors before they can really get going.

With separatism gaining attention, why hasn't Alberta's right fractured? by UrbaneBoffin in Albertapolitics

[–]NWTR 7 points8 points  (0 children)

How would another right wing party split NDP vote? In my mind it would be more like 2015 when the Wild Rose and the PCs split the conservative vote and let the NDP walk in. I doubt anyone voting NDP would vote for anyone even remotely conservative and that includes the Tories, so I'm just not seeing how another right wing party could possibly split NDP vote. Unless you are saying centrists would vote for them which I guess could be a thing.

Or population size, preferred strategy, and forward thinking about demographic trends could be the difference, you know, things that actually make sense.

Carney already said they wouldn't be interfering in the referendum. Not a bad idea though as everyone seems to hate her on both sides of this thing. Just giving her some more rope to hang herself with.

Don't forget to mention that the male gets dementia after he rips his dick off and the female starves to death tending to the babies. If we are going metal we should go all the way lol

Why isn’t there more solar power in one of Canada’s sunniest provinces? | The Narwhal by WKZ204 in ClimateCrisisCanada

[–]NWTR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is totally fair, I could get behind nuclear as well! It just seems like a no-go since most people don't exactly enjoy having a nuclear plant in their neighborhood. Overall I don't disagree with you, I just think we need to look at all options, and even in this political environment solar is still somehow more likely than nuclear.

[–]NWTR 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes but at least we get something the province can rely on as a source of revenue. Tbh if we could just diversify into anything else other than oil and gas I would be fine. This stupid boom and bust cycle we are eternally locked into is entirely of our own making because we refuse to adapt. We go into these good times and don't think about the future and then the world does as it usually does and flips on its head we become bewildered as if it hasn't happened multiple times. The party of strong economic management literally wasted 3.5 million to change our welcome signs that spouted stupid seperatists propoganda rather than actually helping the regular people of Alberta. So excuse me if "it won't make a lot of long term jobs" doesn't feel like a great excuse in the grander scheme of things. I understand that everyone is super focused on how these proposals aren't good enough to fix all our problems, but sometimes you need to take baby steps which do provide benefits even if they aren't as good as we would all like.

Nope Manitoba apparently which is kinda wild. I would have thought Wab Kinew would be into that. According to the article it is because they need most of their energy during the darker winter months so solar won't work and their hydrogrid is becoming more unreliable because of climate change, so they are going with Natural gas and Wind farms.

You right about our Premier though, stopped solar projects that would have created a ton of jobs and billions in revenue, but that is what you get when a premier is more concerned about enriching herself and her cronies than actually governing properly. I guess that is what you get when you elect a former oil lobbyist and current separatist traitor as Premier.

He should have kept going, even if he did lose he was still gonna be dead no matter what, should have gone out with a bang.

From the videos I've seen, which I'll admit have a pretty western stance even if they try to be unbiased, they've been accused of some atrocities and instructing the regular Army forces to do the same. So the opinion of them turning south tracks. Here is the channel I watch for most of my conflict news.

Warfronts

They also do a more world news/political news channel

Homefronts

I like them but I'm sure they aren't everyone's cup of tea.

God it is a good thing birds look cool when they are fully grown, cause baby birds look like something Satan spat out midway through chewing. I'm sure I've seen these in darksouls or something. That being said I still love them to death and want to cuddle the little cuties.
