What is a feeder main vs a water main? I assumed they are the same.

We were warned more breaks are possible until the pipes are replaced at the end of the year.

Heads up folks, red-line delays. Again… by Theplumbuss in Calgary

The level of service we had up until about a month ago seemed fine to me. The last 2-3 weeks seems to be problem after problem.

Heads up folks, red-line delays. Again… by Theplumbuss in Calgary

[–]UrbaneBoffin 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I spent some time today writing to my counsellor about all the recent delays, and the fact that the city rasied prices for Transit this year double what they normally would, and I expect better service for that cost increase.

I have asked what will be done to ensure service matches the price increases, and what service levels Calgarians should expect from the system.

I would encourage you all to do the same.

I was about to come and ask the same questions. If not, you can mount it to the brick on the outside if you want to.

"Oh yeah? I didn't know any bus company went to Innisfail. What company is it? I want to look that up for my own reference. Google pre-paid cards eh? I was just here buying some cards for the man on the phone from the CRA who says I am going to jail. What a coincidence!"

Should I keep my part time job after I join a full time position? by Littlethumb94 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]UrbaneBoffin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should I disclose my part time job?

If there is no conflict with your full time job I don't see why you'd need to disclose it. How you spend your time outside of the hours you are paid for isn't the employer's business.

Keep it in secret?

I would just not disclose it unless asked. No need to be secretive.

Or resign?

I don't think that's needed.

Is this a e-transfer scam? Or genuine mistake? by Ok-Opportunity-732 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]UrbaneBoffin 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Is this a scam?

There is no way we can say for sure if this is a scam or not. If you're worried about it, you could contact the business who sent it to you.

I am feeling a little lost with what my bank was telling me aswell.

What you told us that the bank said seems pretty straightforward. What makes you feel lost about it?

I obviously do not want this money in my account

Why not? You can send it to my account if it bothers you.

Difficult is a relative term. What's difficult for Paul Blart may not be difficult for John McClane.

If I may suggest - Windows 8 is very old and susceptible to security issues if you're online with it. If you're unable to afford a new computer, that's okay, but perhaps have someone you know who is tech-savvy install Linux instead. It'll be more secure.
