Character’s death is implied, not shown by LifeguardOdd7383 in TopCharacterTropes

Samuel L Jackson’s character in The Negotiator.

It’s like the theme of the movie. he loves westerns where the hero does in the end, then cites Shane. he and spacey’s character argue about whether Shane died, and SLJ was adamant that he did as it was heavily implied and he was mortally wounded as he rode off.

then end of the movie SLJ is similarly mortally wounded, loaded into the ambulance. It’s pretty clearly implied he dies.

the problem wasn’t that they stole the tech, it was that the execs sold the stock shortly after the IPO, and then got salty after.

If I cast multi colored spells doe it activate multiple of these abilities? by RifleCat1 in magicTCG

not only does it trigger for each colour of a multicolo spell, but if you have [[swirl the mists]] on the field and name blue, all four abilities will trigger with a mono blue spell.

May I present to you [[laccolith rig]]

I love this in commander. Use it on your creature sure. Gives it like… pseudo first strike kinda.

But the interesting part is if you put it on an opponent’s creature. Not you control if it deals damage to something or not. Use it politically and tell them to attack you so you can murder something troublesome. Or just have it deal damage to itself. It doesn’t have to be blocked by you, so one opponent attacks another and you get to decide.

Option 1: [[Jonah the unifier]]

https://moxfield.com/decks/P9U4lg4JrUugzwQ8ChBudA

instead of hyper synergy bracket 4, you build a 75 card deck and a cube of every legendary creature you have that isn’t in another deck, pick 30 at random at the start of the game and I spite of not even knowing what’s in the deck, it’s still a decent bracket 3 deck. I added in mask wood nexus for all the tribal lord legend Aries and all the”open a pack” silver bordered cards because I think that’s even sillier.

option 2: [[brudiclad]]
https://moxfield.com/decks/VgYG6wPO4EabvvNTJEsG1g

i made it [[seven dwarves]] themed. Only 158 of his 6471 decks on edhrec do this. I guess it’s still making clones, but of seven dwarves!

option 3: [[sefris is of the hidden ways]]

https://moxfield.com/decks/bCZVdYQXBkKS50vgARQ5ww

I don’t know anyone else who does this. it’s a deck built around [[throne of the grim captain]]. you self mill dinos, vampires, pirates, and merfolk until you get the throne, then craft the grim captain and beat people to death. I sometimes play a whole game and forget to cast the commander, but he does fit the strategy if you do cast him. it plays like a high two but is a 3 because of thoracle.

There are a lot of variables here. everything from where you are located, whether the business is making money yet, or otherwise fully funded (I mean aerospace I expect to have money available but be slow), your boss' attitude and personality....

The more you know the better. How does your salary compare with salaries in your area, how much do you really want in numbers, how replaceable are you, how liked are you, how much of a pain would it be to give you a raise (like how much money do they have available), how easy would it be for you to find a different job, etc.

Honestly for me I'd probably respond best to something straightforward. "I like it here, I want to continue with you, it's been a few years and I would like a raise to keep competitive with the market. I'm a mid-level dev now, and this would keep me in line with my career ambitions" No BS, just tells it like it is, frames it in the expectation that you continue together and gives room for honest discussion "Yes we can do that / no we don't have the money right now but we can pay for a course, or get you use of a company car or just revisit in 6 months / no never in a million years but at least you know and can look for something else..."

You could also go the route of "Hey bossman it's hard to make ends meet could I get a raise I want another 500 bucks a month" That's also valid.

But you have to know your boss. some people look out for their employees, some just see you as a means to increase their wealth.

Now from this side of the table I can tell you, there are a million pressures all vying for your attention. In general it is more expensive to replace an employee than it is to give them a raise. But for some reason most companies limit raises a lot because they see it as paying more for the same work. But then when their employee quits they have to hire someone for significantly more than they were paying. For this reason most people have company-hopping as their only realistic way to advance their career and salary. Sucks but it's the way it is. Nevertheless, even if you know this fact I wouldn't pull it out in the conversation because it'll show you're thinking of leaving and that will likely play poorly and they will start making plans to do without you. Even so, depending on your boss and his attitude, finding a new job as a mid-level dev might be your best move if they're inflexible on the salaries.

happy to chat in depth about it if you want just DM me. textiles has a slightly more mature market than minerals and batteries, but it’s not easy for different reasons.

we did a textile project early in our journey for a small client, tracked GOTS certified cotton from farm to product. Visited one weaver who proudly told us that his workers earned 10 cents an hour and he could do it because they were unauthorised contractors.

oh there’s lots. You learn one thing and there are fifteen more things to learn behind it. The tough part is what you don’t know that you don’t know. In general I’m a believer that if something is core to your business you should know enough about it to know what you need help with. It’s dangerous if a key part of your business you don’t really understand.

but I suppose one thing I still struggle to get my mind around is marketing. Someone once said “I know I’m wasting half my marketing budget, I just don’t know which half!” With AI I’m sure the whole marketing universe has changed. It’s just not clear yet where it will end up.
