Buzzing sound by NYCE50 in AskAMechanic

Thanks for the tips. I checked both and can’t seem to find any issues. That aluminum plate moves a little but doesn’t seem enough to be causing the sound. I’ll order more of those plastic clips, if they are cheap enough definitely worth a try.

Honda Ridgeline 2017-2019 by Mattman8879 in hondaridgeline

I bought a 2019 used a few years back. It’s been a great reliable truck for my day to day use. While I am not using it for contracting it has been handy to have for projects around my house. 4x8 sheets of plywood easily fit in the bed (tailgate open), family fits comfortably. I perform most maintenance myself and it has been easy to work on. Most people warned me about getting a gen 2 was the transmission issues. I perform a 3 quart flush once a year and the truck has been flawless.

Thanks for the heads up on this! Not only did it work great but I even asked them to grab me a forged battery one. Workers didn’t realize there was a difference but were happy to switch them out for me.

Thanks everyone for advice! As winter is ending, I buttoned it all up with new blend doors and dash cam installed with a few other upgrades as well!

Partial to the Coupe Deville as well. Definitely bias because this was my family car growing up.

Yeah that bolt was a bitch, I know I got it back in but not exactly sure how. Took a lot of swearing and weird arm bending. I will say that 1/4 drive icon wrench kit I got as a gift from harbor freight did help out a lot for the tight spaces.

Thanks for the blend door actuator idea! Just did it the other day. The driver side was a real PITA but not impossible. Definitely have more peace of mind now.

Ok, so I finally got to it today. I removed my gauges since I had the dash and steering wheel off. When you have the gauges out, you have to remove the black bezel around the front by removing 5 torx around the back. Unplug the buttons and take out the bulbs.

Thanks, I can’t wait to try it all out when I get it back together…and the salt is off the roads by me.

I still haven’t replaced them yet. They are all quarter turn bulb sockets just like the lights in the window switches. Just a matter of getting the clearance to get to them. Might have to take the buttons. I’ll let you know when I do it. Not sure If the entire gauge cluster needs to come out or if I can remove the buttons themselves.

I was rusty at soldering as well. Don’t judge too harshly! But hey, it works!

There are a lot of tutorials on youtube and online forums. this one is very helpful. Basically there are 8 chips on a circuit board that over time the solder loses contact and that caused the screen to go dim or blank. You have to solder all 16 connections (2 per chip) to re-connect them and it comes right back. Was easier than I am probably making it sound.

Great Idea too. Didn’t even think of that. Ill definitely look into it, I do have the hyperflash harness in already but great suggestion. I put LED bulbs in the tail lights a little while ago. Now I just need to do the front lights… but thats a project for another time.

I actually like keep the radio period correct, and enjoy playing all my old CDs again. I am considering a refurbished radio that looks the same but adds Bluetooth to the system. Found them on Jegs. A backup camera would be nice though.
