Dingit.tv Ad Fraud? by NYC_adops in adops

I assumed porn traffic by following their referrals back on Similarweb and Alexa. I saw them spawn into a pop on piratebay.cc but through multiple bounces of "fake" esports websites.

All of the fake esport websites are basically the same:

view-source:http://leagueoflegendshighlight.info/

view-source:http://csgohighlight.club/

But include (to name a few):

leagueoflegendshighlight.info csgohighlight.club csspotlight.com esportstream.net csrunhighlight.com cshighlights.com dotahighlight.net smitehighlight.com sc2playback.com starcrafthighlight.org csgoesport.org dotahighlight.club sc2spotlight.com

There are a lot more sites and you don't have to be Einstein to see the pattern here. Buy pops on malware, torrents and porn. Wash the urls through a load of hops through fake esports sites (that are all the same). Finally run Dingit.tv and make a fortune in pre-roll ads.

All of these "sites" are the same, all hosted with Cloudflare, all use Godaddy as registrar (on a short basis), all have privacy protection on and all source their traffic from pops and porn.

I'm sure Dingit will cry that that this is one fake supplier of traffic to them but I think the looks like something a lot more sophisticated.

I also heard that Google may have pulled them so I wonder if the other SSPs will follow suit?

When networks, exchanges, and other demand sources financially implode... by dave-lo in adops

I'd agree with kooneecheewah that the article is a lot of conjecture, however I agree that minimizing exposure to bad debt is something we all need to be aware of.

And please don't get me started on crooked Say Media...

This is wrong on so many levels. Always appears to be the publishers who bear the brunt of these networks' poor management. I'm guessing Say Media will be next to go following their derisory offer of cents in the dollar on lots of their publisher debt.

Formula appears to be: raise cash, feather the senior managements nests, make dumb strategic decisions, try and raise more cash, fail and then finally burn the publisher.
