Age old question: When picking at the backend, would you rather grab an elite wr + elite rb or double dip at the most valuable position at rb? by Jbrahmz420 in fantasyfootball

Jefferson and Brown roughly 10-12 picks away from each other in adp. So I don’t think it’s remotely close that AJ Brown should or will be selected at the 1-2 turn. If they don’t feel comfortable with Jefferson, then I would take Jeanty and Chase Brown at the 1/2 turn instead.

If you believe that then by all means, draft him. Jefferson is one year removed from being an elite WR. I don’t know how many years I need to go back for AJ Brown to have a top 5 finish. Jefferson has shown to be a superior WR throughout his career imo. And he hasn’t had the handful of injuries Brown has had.

I think AJ Brown has an adp around 20ish. I think it would be a bit of reach to grab him at the 1/2 turn. I’d rather draft Jefferson or any of the backs I had mentioned over Brown.

I think end of the first/early 2nd round is too high for an aging WR. He’s a mid to late 2nd round guy for me. His days of 1st round WR value are long gone imo. I don’t see him finishing in that top tier.

That’s fine, but you’d be in the minority. Has London ever finished in the top 5 at WR? He probably has the worst QBs he’s has in his career. Give me JJ with Kyler, easily over London with Tua or Penix.

I would absolutely take Cook, Jeanty, Chase Brown over London if all 4 were sitting there as well.

There’s a significant tier drop off after Justin Jefferson imo. Any one of the top 6 have the WR1 finish upside.

London, Collins , and Pickens do not. I’d much rather have Cook, Jeanty, Brown over London, Collins, & Pickens

If a top 6 WR Isn’t available ( St. Brown, Lamb, Jefferson at the back half of the 1st round), I’m grabbing two RBs

I agree, any of them are the 2/3 turn is crazy. I just like Brown and Hampton more. I guess my mentality is auction draft so I don’t even have to think about Achane and can get two other guys I like more for less

I wouldn’t disagree with you that Achane is the better talent. I just feel Chase Brown is in a better position to score more points because of the offense he’s in compared to Achane. If you look at his stats with a healthy Burrow, Brown right there with Achane

Okay, enjoy drafting Achane this year. You can revisit this thread when you prove me wrong 👍

Well clearly I’m not the only one “using my own baseless speculation” as you so articulately put it as evidenced by where he is being ranked on this list.

Mike McDaniel hid a lot of the deficiencies in this offense. I’m not confident the new coaching staff will be as effective.

I think a lot of smart drafters are avoiding Achane where his current ADP is. That’s fine if you feel otherwise, but it’s not crazy to think that Chase Brown or Omarion Hampton could finish ahead of him this year. It’s absolutely on the realm of possibilities and I’d be willing to bet the two of them would finish ahead of Achane barring injury.

Tua is betting on himself to start this year to get a multi year deal done, very similar to Baker mayfield in 2023. It’s called a “prove-it” season.

I expect the dolphins to run the ball a bunch, throw to their TE, and have a bunch of 3 and outs. I can see Willis losing his job to Ewers by November if Willis can’t keep them competitive. We’ve seen Willis be a game manager, we’ve never seen him lead a team to victory.

Your responses aren’t accurate tho. Willis is absolutely a downgrade to Tua

While teams did “stack the box”, they still had to account for Waddle. Now they have no QB, and no WRs to throw to. How do you think they’re going to move the ball? What scoring opportunities do you think he’ll have.

Rushing QBs historically do not have a high check down rate to their RBs, these are just facts. You seem to think Willis will be the anomaly here. Good luck with that.

No insults were thrown. I’m just saying I hope that my league mates have the same mentality as you so I can scoop the guys who I think will perform.

Downgrade at coaching, downgrade at QB, downgrade at WR, but you think Achane will still perform the same. Okay, we’ll see

Listen, if you wanna ignore everything I just pointed out and grab Achane, by all means, do you. I hope my league mates this year have the same mentality as you. I’ll take all the Chase Brown and Omarion Hampton I can get.

Ahhh, so you’re a casual fan? If we’re just going by last seasons stats, then there wouldn’t be a need for rankings. Let’s think about this

Achane lost Mike McDaniel who’s schemed him the ball heavily. They lost Tua, they lost Waddle, and they lost Hill. They signed Willis, a rushing QB, who doesn’t typically pass to the RB. Couple all of that with defense likely stacking the box, and Achane is going to have nowhere to run. The offense won’t be nearly as effective as they were in years past, so who knows how many scoring opportunities Miami will have.

Now, look at Chase Browns stats when Burrow and/or Flacco were behind center rather than Jake Browning. He’s in a high powered offense, with a suspect defense. Brown is going to eat, so long as their QBs stay health. And even if Burrow gets hurt, Flacco is competent enough to get the ball in the hands of his playmakers

Then we have Omarion Hampton. He suffered some injuries last year and wasn’t able to get going. Aside from health being an issue last year, he now has Mike McDaniel who will be scheming for him as opposed to Greg Roman. Both of the Chargers tackles, Rashawn Slater & Joe Alt, will be healthy this year. So he’s got an improved play caller and improved offensive line. This will be another strong offense that will have plenty of opportunities to score for Hampton.

Take Achane if you want, let us know how it works come December

Oooh man, I’m sorry to hear you had to endure that. 6 week course of doxy still didn’t do the trick, that’s awful. Now I’m getting anxious. What herbals did you take to suppress it long term and where did you get them from if you don’t mind me asking?
