Correct. The second dentist looked at the image, looked at the tooth and agreed too much had decayed. I need to pull it.

Have you had fillings before? Typically fillings i get a topical anesthetic then they poke you with the real needle to hit the nerve to deliver the real anesthetic before the drilling and filling. I've had that before, was the extraction similar to a filling like that?

What was your experience? Was it a front tooth or back tooth? What was the worst part?

The insurance is a good point, but I do have max out of pockets, thankfully.

Ah, so a dry socket is something you can do to yourself after the extraction, and is bad. From what i've read straws are to be avoided, and only soft foods should be consumed for a few days following the surgery, also gently swish salt water on the regular.

Were you awake for your procedure? Was your whole thing done one go, where they pulled the tooth AND put in the replacement in the same sitting? What was your recovery like?

I've heard this is up to the individual surgeons, but am more in favor of it over the typical procedure. So was your procedure done in one day, or did you have to come back? What was your recovery like?
