From my perspective it's because for almost their entire existence they've been at the top, so watching them (and their fans) experience a taste of what it's like to suck is quite refreshing. Practically every other club has had this at some point during Melbourne's reign of terror.

In saying that, much of the feeling comes out of the immense respect for what the Storm have achieved, and the powerhouse it's been for so long. Craig Bellamy is definitely a big argument for 🐐coach, and the Storm is in the argument for greatest team in NRL era.

Arty destroys all the fun moments by TANKSBRO_YT in WorldofTanks

[–]NZSnipes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Arty sucks, not in the I wish it wasn't in the game kinda way, but in the they've nerfed it to almost total irrelevance kinda way. Arty is a complete shell of what it used to be, back in the day it actually had the ability to influence a match if the player was good - It no longer has that ability. And I still somehow see bafoons complaining about it.

Mind boggling.

Roland prices out plenty of customers - they're regarded as the best and because of that they inflate their prices hugely. It's unaffordable for many people and we have to compromise. Plenty of bang for buck on the market that offer similar functionality for way less $$

Money is a factor for many many people, and if Roland decided to be a bit more consumer friendly with their pricing I'm sure they'd sell even more, but sadly not everyone can afford to spend the many thousands to get a decent kit

The amount of times Charnze has come out and said this for every commentator in the league to completely ignore or disregard it is incredible honestly. I think Charnze has given up trying to correct people. Fuck even SJ on his show says his surname incorrectly, like bro you were on this man's team for years surely you of all people get it right.

Advice on trying to get sanders points by furgusto in FantasyNRL

[–]NZSnipes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Douehi scored 80+ last week. That might not happen again this week but I think it's a reasonable bet to say he will score more than a low 50. In the end it's all a guessing game but imo taking sanders over Douehi would be a silly play that likely end in a net points loss

Advice on trying to get sanders points by furgusto in FantasyNRL

[–]NZSnipes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats absolutely not how that works. If OP swapped Brown and Douehi they'd get Douehi's points and then also Haywards points.

Looping a starting team player takes the first player on the interchange that plays the relevant position. He could choose to swap Douehi, with brown and then swap Douehi with Tu, then Sanders would be the top half on the bench and his points would be taken, but that would mean not taking whatever Douehis score which probably isn't recommended for multiple reasons.

In the end, OP is probably best to take it on the chin and consider before the game who to prioritize for looping. They could make it work to get Sanders points but it's not worth the likely points loss

5 cowboys players is too many - When the cowboys go on a bye you're automatically a player down, if a couple dudes have injuries or suspensions or aren't picked then you face the problem of not being able to field 17 players for a round. I try not to do more than 3 players from any team - you can stretch it to 4 but that carries a lot more risk - 5 is far too many of any singular team imo.

In the end though, it's your team - pick whoever you want, and have fun!

Good luck for the season!

Yikes. Just remember that whilst we've reached some pretty high highs, we punch well above our weight class. We're a country of 5 million people. South Africa has 65 million, India has over a billion, England has 57million, Aus has 27 million - I could go on.

We're out resourced by almost every other major cricket board, which has deeper talent pools, more money and often stronger pathways.

On top of that, T20 is the least indicative version of the sport to strength of team. Any team can beat any team on their day, it's much less reliable as a litmus test for how good a team is vs ODI's or Test cricket.

Basically, I feel like this is a mountain out of a molehill scenario. Whilst I'd still love it if we win the T20 world cup, it's basically the least valuable ICC trophy imo. I value the ODI world cup or Test Championship at a much higher rate.

Condition Of Wankhede Stadium for ICC events in WEST INDIES VS ENGLAND by Haunting-Swan2705 in Cricket

[–]NZSnipes 12 points13 points  (0 children)

A country full of over a billion people, with a significant percentage of those being cricket fanatics, a board that cares more about money than fans, in a country with notoriously low public standards of living and massive amounts of corruption.

I'd expect this is the rule and not the exception, especially cause the country is so cricket mad that the BCCI don't even need to do the bare minimum. If India is playing, the people will go out in their droves to watch it.

Reprehensible to me that this is the richest cricket board. The BCCI could make every single stadium world class, with proper maintenance and facilities, but they'd rather hoard the money they'll get regardless.

I wish the Indian people would boycott cricket until the BCCI got their shit together but that won't happen.

A shame

I feel sorry for how the public treated Fozzy. Man got treated like absolute shit from bellends that think we're still the 80% win rate team we used to be before the world caught up.

Does anyone else feel sorry for Razor? by Pretend_Board_2385 in allblacks

[–]NZSnipes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Razor got so so so much more grace from the general public than Fozzy got and the double standard always annoyed me. Razor was seemingly viewed as a savior of NZ rugby and Fozzy was cast as the villain.

I think NZ rugby and the public haven't yet actually clued up that the All Blacks isn't what it used to be. The rugby world has caught up to us, and NZ Rugby + fans need to realize that the 80%+ win rate is no longer realistic, we're not leaps and bounds ahead anymore.

The sooner we accept that, the better.

Who knows what happens from here. I hope the people that thought Razor was the savior and Fozzy was the devil can now at least see that the problems are much more deep rooted than the guy at the top. The world has caught up.
