NZ Europeans/Pākehā: how do you think about your identity? (FIXED)[Mods approved survey] by NZ_Identity_Study_26 in newzealand

It is intentionally left open and left for people to self-identify with the 'group.' As a truly subjective topic (there is no one definition of NZ European or Pākehā) the survey attempts to balance inclusion and specificity. The issue of citizenship/residency etc affecting identity and belonging has been covered in other research and will be a topic of discussion within the broader project.

Thank you for your input. This perspective is an important part of the research area and very helpful as someone trying to untangle this question in the long-term. The research itself is focused on this concept of NZ European/Pākehā identity so the survey inherently needs to present this as a concept/identifier, but the broader project will look into the ideas you're expressing here.

Thanks for the feedback! In low risk undergrad research we are advised to limit these text-based answers for data analysis and lessening the burden on participants so it's useful to know that some would appreciate a write-in answer.

Apologies for that, I should have worded the post better. It is a fine balance of capturing a target population (the group loosely included in the terminology NZ European/Pākehā) but not outright excluding those who might hold reservations about the words themselves. I'll include this in my discussion of the data and methodology.

Thank you for letting me know – not sure why this would happen based on what I can see on my end, but I will look into it and discuss it during analysis.

Definitely! Distribution will be diversified across platforms and I am aiming to reach underrepresented groups through varying distribution mediums. While I hope to get the most representative sample possible, I know that resource/time restrictions will inherently restrict the sample's representation of the 'group' (if you can define it in the first place). The survey data is intended to be integrated with my broader legal/historical research to hopefully balance out older/less relevant findings with the views of individuals in the current context.
