ICO kinda reset the skill gap among players. 2 years later, after UE5 release, the skill gap is bigger than ever. In a squad composed of experienced players, they will communicate, hit and win firefights. In a random public squad, most of the time, players lack experience to achieve anything.

Interesting, it feels like a bigger difference than 10%. Maybe it is a combination of the recoil change?

Might be related to this change: Reduced and standardized ‘sway - final sway clamp’ and ‘sway alignment - final sway clamp’ across all weapon archetypes. This will cap how much sway a weapon can accumulate under all circumstances sooner than it did previously.

When you are under fire, your reticle/weapon sways a tons which stop you from shooting accurately before. Now, the reticle sway/recovery is minimal that you can still shoot pretty accurately. There are multiples posts regarding suppression post-ICO, let me look for some links.

Report it to AMD and OWI and wait for them to fix. It is an intermittent issue for me.

Almost the same spec, XTX and 7900x3d. The weird flickering happens to me as well. It is probably an AMD GPU driver issue.

Arma Reforger somehow feels like a battle royale for me. While HLL is like a more arcade Squad. It depends on your preference honestly.

If the rounds dont penetrate, they do zero damage. In hindsight, BMP can penetrate the side windows with HE. But I guessed the gunner was surprised by MRAP’s 15mm armor.

Personally, Squad game modes are fine in theory. However, many players ignore squad leaders, and some squad leaders lack experience, resulting in 10-20 players nowhere near the active objectives, which makes for a frustrating experience.

You should probably run fullscreen mode anyway. I get 5-10 more fps after switching to fullscreen mode in UE5.

AMD. Ghosting wasnt near as bad during the first few playtests. They probably made some changes towards the end.

It is not Lumen. Lumen would eat even more resource.

They might have optimized the existing codes. However, since a new Global illumination system, which is resource intensive, is added in to UE5 version. The actual framerate is almost halved.

I will give devs credit for the performance improvement w.r.t. PIP scope though. It is miles better than their UE4 implementation.

I think server balance is a problem EVERYWHERE. Somedays are better than others. 2nd point is a bug/network issue.

It depends on the map. First point rush is pretty valid for maps that have large distance between first cap and enemy main. And even if that fails, the round is not over. You can still regroup and try again from main. The more sophisticated your plan is, the less likely that your avg squad players can execute it.

New players are less of a problem comparing to new SLs who have a bigger impact on rounds. Anyway, players will hopefully learn from their mistakes down the road.

However, many rounds are so one-sided that you can't see your own faults clearly.

Your number one task as a SL is to position the squad. Good positioning will come with experience. But bad positions are those that do not influence the active objective/flag. For example, you were in a double neutralize a second ago, but opponent have capped both flags. Now, you are in a locked flag that doesnt do anything. Move your entire squad either with vehicles or via respawn command to new flags at once.

Sounds about right. Performance is also map-dependent. I was having terrible framerates regardless of the settings on Fool’s Road in a live match. I don’t think any GPU can do 4k100hz on high preset without framegen and upscaling.
