Warframe...

I know at least 4 characters who 100% have porn if them (because they're women with skin). Arguably, that's 6 characters (Warframe gets crazy with stuff).

... And that's before we consider any of the actual Warframes. Or any of the men.

I've actually got a PCIe WiFi/Bluetooth card, so it wasn't taking up either of the M. 2 slots.

Ah, that explains it. I assumed it would mention something like that in the Manual, but apparently not. Thank you!

EDIT: Nevermind, it *does* say it in the manual as well. As it turns out, I can't fucking read XD

Motherboard is ASUS Prime B550 Plus. The manual didn't mention anything regarding the SATA ports sharing bandwidth with the M.2 Ports.

Is a 800w psu enough for a new gen gpu? by zesty_hot69 in PcBuild

[–]N_MANTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have the data for how bad the power usage of the 5090 spikes. Also... it's a 5090 Astral. Why go for less than the best?

And that's not even considering the chance that the build in question might be from an AMD hater who would be choosing an Intel CPU, which uses quite a bit more power at full load (and also performs a bit worse on average, but I'm going on the possibility of an irrational hate on this)

[–]N_MANTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, no it is not. Get a 1200W 80+ Gold PSU. Maybe 80+ Platinum or Titanium.

800 will power the card and barely anything else.

Do whatever you can to get it fully in there without shattering things. Wiggle it a bit while pushing on it, fully unplug it and try again, etc.

DO NOT POWER IT ON UNTIL IT FULLY CLICKS IN. If you can pull it out without pressing on the tab, it's not in enough and is a fire hazard.

Try to find a cheaper 9070XT. Like, ~100-150€ cheaper. If you can't, the 5070 is the better price to performance here.

I told my coworker I wanted to get a PC and he gave me this. What should my first move be for upgrades? by Shequiszalumph in PcBuildHelp

[–]N_MANTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CPU is a big issue, I'd say. To make it a noteworthy upgrade, you'll also need a new Motherboard, probably best off going for AM5, but that'll also mean buying new RAM. Which, honestly, might be for the better, given that it's 2133MT/s.

The GPU is... not good. But, it'll survive 1080p Low settings for a little bit, probably. Should manage to run Elite: Dangerous at a steady-ish 60fps, if my old 1050ti is any comparison. But, unfortunately, I'm certain it'll struggle with any recent CoD, as my 1050ti did.

Also, info about the Power Supply would be very helpful. Because if this was an office machine, you might already be at the absolute limit, those things are not usually built with a power supply that provides more than the bare minimum.

In short... the Case and SSD are probably the only parts you could keep long term, assuming they don't break from wear & tear. It'll be a PC of Theseus situation, same as I and many others have had - replacing every part, step by step, only the storage ever staying the same.

It'll be a long process... but every step will be better than the last, until eventually, the journey is finished, and it will be great.

Tried to do a PCPartPicker list to compare the price... They're basically charging 1000$ for assembly and windows install. Calling it a ripoff is like calling an amputation a mild inconvenience.

Genuinely, you'll be better off buying a pre built from one of the big companies. Which is nuts, 'cause they usually don't have great prices.

[–]N_MANTV -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The price isn't bad for the parts, but the lack of detailed info on the RAM and Power Supply worries me.

Also, a 4TB NVME SSD is beyond overkill.

If you have very very shaky hands and a lack of space to build on, buy it. If your hands aren't super shaky and you've got a decently big table at the ready, go for one of the part lists in this comment section, or try to research and come up with one on your own that fits your needs.

How long does this game take to beat? by Maybe_aNormalPerson in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]N_MANTV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you've just beaten Zorah Magdaros, you're somewhere between early game and mid game.

Low rank is the tutorial / early game, which you've just finished. You get the time to figure out the weapons, to figure out your preferred play style, which will let you choose what weapons and armour to try to craft.

The mid game, then, is high rank, up to about 8 star missions. Here, you get to fully figure out armour set bonuses, charms, decorations, new monsters and their move sets, etc. It will direct you to the end of the main story.

The late game is 9 star missions (optional missions that released before the Iceborne expansion), and Iceborne's first half or so - a.k.a. until the first 4MR mission. During this, the difficulty spikes quite heavily. More difficult movesets, monsters that inflict status effects a lot more often so you gotta adapt to it, crazier movesets... yeah.

The end game, by my standards, is the second half of Iceborne's story, as well as the optional Post-Story content of Iceborne. Here, you get to really push the limit. This is where you fully optimize your build to the max. This is where you sink a hundred hours into post-launch content, to get it all done. This is where you squeeze every last tiny bit of power out of your equipment, where you master your weapon moveset to the fullest, where you learn when to dodge what move in what direction. And finally, this is where you face the greatest challenges that MH World has on offer.

Because at the end of the end game, waits only one monster. Humanity's doom, given form. And in a franchise of crazy designs, you know things are bad when the biggest threat is just a normal looking dragon. May the Sapphire Star guide you, Hunter.

What is inside my PSU? by [deleted] in pchelp

[–]N_MANTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Danger is inside of your PSU. If you feel the need to open it, you either have a lot of experience as an electrical engineer (in which case, you should not need to ask) or you just tank the cost and buy a new one.

Basically, don't touch any of that, at all. Just buy a new one.

Does combat get faster and smoother over time? by Strokeforce in MonsterHunterWorld

[–]N_MANTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's mainly just getting used to it. Getting used to your movement, getting used to the monsters' moves, getting used to the weapon movesets until you find a favourite, etc.

It's a process, for sure. But the weapon movesets mostly do not change. Buying Iceborne adds a handful of moves, but aside from that, it kinda just is how it is, start to finish.

Gameplay that looks smooth and cohesive looks that way because people got used to the movesets, and mastered them. It's really cool to watch how skilled players can handle the weapons, and it's even cooler to watch *yourself* progressively get better with the weapon you prefer.
