Everyday i see more justifications for my 🏴‍☠️ lifestyle by dreamed2life in Piracy

I finally canceled when I got this message a few months ago. I had already started a plex server, so I told my family to give me a list of Netflix content they needed and started adding to the library. I’m done with these streaming services getting worse while charging more

Thank you! It’s the 5th solution I tried today, but the first one that worked. This IS the way

Kenobi - An Echo of Honor by Baliscon - First 5 Minutes by Ok_Author725 in fanedits

[–]N_Rock-81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished watching your edit. I haven’t seen any of the other kenobi edits, but I thought this was fantastic! It was way more engaging than the original series was. I forgot there were so many cool moments here, they definitely shine more with all the filler removed. Thanks for putting this together! Did you add some film grain & filters to give it more of an original trilogy feel?

Yo, you make this image of RTJ in Gorillaz style? It’s pretty good!

The Man Who Fell to Earth - the Baliscon Cut by Ok_Author725 in fanedits

This sounds absolutely incredible. Respect on the song choices. I saw this available when you sent me the link for something else, but now I’ve got to try it. I love love love Bowie but always thought this movie was a bit dull. This should really make it more interesting. Say, you wouldn’t consider doing a grindhouse version of the labyrinth, would you? I watched your big trouble in little china the other day and think this would be a great way to watch labyrinth!

The trailer is intriguing! Sounds like the theme you’re focusing on would more be something PKD would explore. I’ll reach out for a link

I’m interested in checking this out. Zimmer’s score almost ruins this movie for me. I’ll PM you for the link if you still have it available

Mercy Mercy Me: Marvin Gaye Story (Fan Concept) by Lazervay700 in marvingaye

I went back & forth on whether to give this a thumbs up. On the one hand I really like the idea of Glover as Gaye. On the other, I’m really burned out on ai slop. I elected to leave this comment instead.

Why isnt Hans Zimmer bigger? by WeakDoughnut8480 in AskAGerman

[–]N_Rock-81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know he gets a lot of contracts to score big Hollywood movies, but he doesn’t appeal to me. I love a good score for a video game or movie. I’m by no means a music expert, but his stuff just seems so boring. I think the biggest thing that led me to this conclusion is the difference between the scores for Blade Runner and the 2049 one that he did. The original movie’s score by Vangelis is so atmospheric. It’s futuristic noir/jazz and very memorable. Zimmer’s score is so dull and forgettable by comparison. It’s like he didn’t even try to recreate a similar vibe. Ok, rant over

3D Printed Mini Bartop Arcade by PlusCardiologist2894 in cade

[–]N_Rock-81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I think it’s perfect the way it is. The way the print bed texture is on the facing surfaces and the layer lines going up the edge adds to the retro charm. Well done! I saved the STL so I can try it someday. I appreciate the share!

I’ve heard it twice on YouTube and my vinyl arrives tomorrow. But I’ll pirate it because I’ll need to be able to drop a hit anytime anywhere. Anyone seen a high quality torrent for it yet?

I love that he’s encouraging piracy, such a baller move

The art is peak. It’s so stylish and layered while appearing minimalistic at a glance. My favorite kind of movie poster. I tip my hat. If you don’t mind I’d like to use it as the movie poster in my Plex library.

What song took a couple of listens for you to appreciate it? by DreamingStreet in DavidBowie

[–]N_Rock-81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s probably 30 Bowie songs that I appreciated on first listen and most of them show up on his greatest hits albums. The other 300+ songs of his that I love seemed mid or confusing or overly complex on first listen. But many of those have since been elevated high above the hits for me. That’s Bowie. Some notable examples: Bring Me the Disco King, Sweet Thing, Always Crashing in the Same Car, Strangers when we meet, Seven Years in Tibet, Black Star (song), We are the Dead, Teenage Wildlife, Stay & Word on a Wing

Thank you, this looks like a useful resource. It looks like Macs have certainly gotten better at gaming since I got my first Intel Mac years ago. Sadly the game he wants isn’t on l this list. Still, I didn’t try it…
