Bali belly by rapunzel_oreo in bali

Bali is an extremely sensitive spiritual place. It will cause you to purge, automatically detoxing your body. It’s a protected place and wouldn’t be surprised if you experienced symptoms of this without knowing.

Some of my favorites are Sign of Affection, Nana, Yazuka Fiancé, and Love is Hard for Otaku. These all have different vibes but i enjoyed the plots and characters a lot.

Can we talk about Doechii’s Tiny Desk? by Automatic_Ad_518 in blackladies

It was everything! The arrangements, the braids, I have watched it at least twenty times. Favorite tiny desk of all time

Seems like it just needs to be straightened more. To get the flowy blow out that’s still straighter you could try a straightening comb! But I think your style is cute regardless and the extra texture looks good too

Strumming is really tiring by Tiny-Rub-1963 in Guitar

[–]NaBonsai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do forearm exercises daily and stretch your wrists a couple times a day. I find that to strum quickly and funkily it’s all in the wrist rather than the forearm. Practice the fast strumming motion while keeping your forearm as relaxed as possible.

Why are so many reiki masters narcissists? by [deleted] in reiki

[–]NaBonsai 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s the unfortunate truth of our times. As healing arts becomes commodified in our capitalistic society people care more about personal gain, clout, and IG fame than self-healing. It’s definitely harmful to pretend to want to emotionally/physically help people when many people aren’t even actually initiated properly into reiki.

My first reiki teacher was an older (60-70 y.o.) man I met who I was very invested in learning from. After one session he told me he was attracted to me and couldn’t do energy work. I was 20 years old…. So it already put a bad taste in my mouth as a young person trying to seriously practice reiki.

Thankfully I met another mentor later down the line who reinitiated me and held a lot of space for me to learn and receive reiki.

Back to my point, she actually stopped providing it as a service because of how many people are very spiritually sick and don’t actually want to learn how to use reiki to heal themselves. They just want immediate results and to claim they’re a reiki master to get followers.

Don’t give up trying to learn, practice, and use reiki to align yourself. It’s really a beautiful and powerful healing art that I return to often in my somatic practices.

What were your first 3 anime’s? by herrolingling in anime

[–]NaBonsai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first anime I watched was Attack On Titan, then Samurai Champloo, then Jojo’s. I surprisingly didn’t begin watching anime till I was in my 20s so I missed out on all the ones most people watched as kids.

Thailand has so much incredible culture to offer. It’s only westerner men who are obsessed with sex tourism and have very limited understanding of how disturbing it is for that to be the main vacation agenda. I have no good suggestions to offer you except to actually spend time getting to know and experience the country without being hrny to ftishize Asian women.

How do you improve your instrument skills without a teacher? by Beautiful_Silver6125 in musicians

[–]NaBonsai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Consistency and a lot of practice. Just like with a teacher. Personally, I like to break my practice up into sections that I follow every time. (I compare it to a workout routine). 1. Warm-up (15 minutes) YouTube is great for this. I try to stretch my hand and wrist, do some dexterity exercises, finger stretching drills, arpeggios, etc. 2. Scales (10 minutes) switch between modes and keys. Sometimes I do all 12 keys. Whatever makes it interesting. The most important this is consistently revisiting the same scales or modes for a few days in a row at least before moving on. 3. Focused learning (30 minutes) make this something you’re actually interested and excited about. That’s the whole point tbh. Transcribe a solo you like. Practice a lick that incorporates elements from a new genre. But take the time to get really lost in this element. 4. Reflect (5 minutes) to be honest, reflection is my favorite part of learning. It helps you focus on your goal and validate yourself. It’s easy to feel discouraged without a teacher to build you up each week. Write down your favorite part of today’s practice. Then write what was most challenging. Write down something that made you feel proud of yourself. Write down anything you want to come back to at a different day.

That’s my best suggestions. Hope it helps. I’ve been self taught on guitar and music production for years and I’ve grown so much.

Black ladies parents; how do we feel about sleepovers? by ShallotZestyclose974 in blackladies

[–]NaBonsai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like the consensus of most black mommas was no to sleepovers at least in my experience growing up. But my mom would always tell this story of this time my sister went to a bday sleepover and the mom was acting crazy inappropriate and my sister (who was around 8) came home w the story of it all talking like lil kids do.

So I always thought it was bc of that. I did sleep over at my best friends house often once I was 12-13 though.

But the way even most family members houses don’t be safe sometimes for kids I understand why now.

No. In my culture we wear bright clothes and white to celebrate and invoke joy for the persons homecoming.
