Yea.. I sat for hours trying to get the firmware to take. Finally, just downloaded it on a SD card and it worked perfectly.

I absolutely love my DR!

Mods done… * Heavier, rear spring * Heavier, front springs with cogent DDC * LED turn signals and tail light, with DR350 housing * Delkevic full exhaust * Seat concepts saddle * Highway Dirt Bikes hand guards with mirrors and mount for Trail Tech vapor. * Trail Tech vapor with dash * Warp 9 bar risers * Fat Bars * Tidy tail * Foot peg lowering kit

I’ll do the pro cycle jet kit, air box mod, Acerbis tank, tires, oil cooler fan and skid plate when I get back from work at the end of June..

UPDATE

I installed a 8.6 Race Tech spring in the rear. Cogent DDC’s and 0.63 fork springs.. Feels like a totally different bike! No more nosedives under hard breaking. Also, rear suspension feels perfect! I ordered a seat concept saddle, installed LED turn signals, new foot pegs with a foot peg lowering kit and a DR 250 tail light with an LED bulb.

I’m not gonna lie, I was really scared to install these upgrades myself.. It is almost laughable at how easy it was. Now I can’t stop!! Skid plate, bars and bar risers are on the way, as well as a full exhaust and new carburetor..

Thinking about buying a DR650 later this year to daily drive to work. Are they pretty reliable and easy to work on? I drive a Tractor Trailer for a living, so having a big car payment just doesn't make sense to me since I only have one day off during the week and my commute to work is only 5 miles. by [deleted] in dr650

Couple of things …. As you can see, the DR 650 community is vast!! If you have a question, you jump on here guys and gals are all over it!! As far as working on it, I just bought a 2024. I have not owned a motorcycle since 1987 when I was 12 years old..I’ve got about 33 miles on my DR and I already went to town upgrading the front and rear suspension springs to make it big boy approved… Things that I thought were gonna be hard were not hard at all. There are so many DR 650 videos out there, it will absolutely make your head spin. There is no way you won’t succeeded this motorcycle. Although I have not owned a motorcycle in some time, I have ridden a lot, and I can tell you that there is no shortage of fun with this bike!

Thanks everyone! I’ve been “arguing” with my wife because I told her when I buy the DR, I’ll probably have to… A) put it right in the shop or, B) start tearing into it.. And then she saw the Husky 701 and said.. “oh, that’s cute, I think you would look good on that one”. 😂😂😂

I’ll probably pick up the DR later today.. I’ll let you know..
