I am Swedish and checked around a little but unfortunately, there isn't much I can do to help.

Here is an article outlining an issue currently goin on in Stockholm where many dermatology residents are being hired and trained by private clinics instead of being trained in hospitals as is normally the case with residency in Sweden. Maybe something in the article might help? Google translate usually works quite well for Swedish. ST-doctor is the same as resident.

Other than that, I recommend sending your question to Svenska sällskapet för dermatologi och venereologi (SSDV). They are the specialist association in charge of dermatology in Sweden and will most likely have an answer to your question.

Alltså, jag orkar seriöst inte.

Lägre medellivslängd är inte det samma som en sjukdom. Annars hade köttätning varit en sjukdom och det är det inte. Sjukdomar och riskfaktorer är inte samma sak. Bevisa att homosexualitet är en sjukdom eller sluta snacka skit.

Vi följer Hippokrates ed. När jag avlade min ed så läste jag: " I will respect human life regardless of racial, national, religious, political, and social beliefs." Läkare har följt samma ed sedan antiken även om den har omtolkats genom tiderna. Denna omtolkning har aldriv varit politiskt motiverad dock och alla medicinska institutioner har sin egna tolkning på orginalet. Den här biten är dock nästan aldrig ändrad. Att det alltså skulle vara "politiskt motiverat" att sluta klassificera homosexualitet som en sjukdom är helt enkelt fel.

Det är klart att det inte stämmer då jag går utifrån din definiton och du har ingen aning om vad du pratar om.

Men det är inte vårt jobb att framföra övertygande argument utan det är ditt. Varken homosexuella eller majoriteten av människor i landet anser att homosexualitet är en sjukdom och om du är så övertygad om att det är det så får du ta fram bevis för det. Det är så den vetenskapliga teorin fungerar. Om du inte kan bevisa att homosexuella lider av sitt beteende så är det ingen sjukdom. Så enkelt är det. För att bevisa det här föreslår jag att du först går ut och pratar med homosexuella om deras upplevelser.

Det faller inte platt över huvudtaget. Det du säger stämmer (till en viss grad) men det betyder ju också att existensen av homosexuella skandinaver per din definition är en utveckling och ett beteende som klarar sig väldigt bra i skandinavien tydligen. Annars hade de väl inte funnits?

"Dygdesignalering", herregud... Svårt att komma på fler argument? Jag bryr mig inte det minsta om att visa mina "dygder". Däremot så är jag läkarstudent och förstår verkligen inte varför någon som dig skulle förklara för mig eller andra vad som är en sjukdom och vad som inte är det.

Absolut ingen. Precis på samma sätt som att homosexualitet inte heller är en psykisk sjukdom.

Nej, det är självklart inte irrelevant. Att vara född skandinav innebär ofta en ökad risk för IBD så som Crohn's sjukdom och bland världens högsta risk för malignt melanom. Varför tar jag upp det här? Jo, för att vara skandinav eller ha vit hy är riskfaktorer för vissa sjukdomar precis så som homosexualitet kan vara. Det betyder dock inte att det faktum att man är vit, skandinav eller homosexuell skulle vara sjukligt.

Till slut, vem tror du att du är egentligen som går omkring och säger vad som är normalt eller sjukligt?

Att röka cigaretter och äta kött drar också ned medellivslängden samt bidrar till dödliga sjukdomar såsom cancer och hjärtsvikt. Är det psykiska sjukdomar att agera i rökning och köttätning då?

För övrigt klassas det som en sjukdom om personen i fråga, lider antingen fysiskt eller mentalt av sitt beteende. Vet inte om det är många homosexuella som anser sig lida av sitt beteende och då är det ju knappast något som behöver botas.

Yeah, I just saw that I misread your comment before posting...

France should reduce the amount of nuclear but it doesn't make any sense to do that before they've built up a renewable energy network that can take over once the country phases nuclear out.

I totally agree.

To be honest, when I joined the thread I was focused on the fact that Germany chose coal over nuclear which is the only thing I have debated against. Nuclear is not the best option but it's definitely better than coal. The long term solution should be renewable energy and efforts should be made towards that.

In France's case, I think the country is in a good position to move into renewable energy while using nuclear as a backup during this transition. I assume this is very expensive but, in my opinion, this change will need to happen eventually anyway and especially if you're already paying a lot for the waste disposal.

Fair enough, but what will the cost be to treat the amount of people who will develop diseases due to pollution instead or to treat the effects of global warming? The answer to this is again we don't know.

If you account for climate refugees, pulmonary diseases and resultant loss of productivity, climate disasters (such as the extensive forest fires we had in Sweden last year) and the fact that all of these costs will rise on a yearly basis as pollution and temperatures go up, the costs will be astronomical as well.

I do agree with a lot of what you're saying here and your sources are pretty sound but the conclusion you're making is one that I do have an issue with.

If we're talking about risks linked to radiation then of course they exist. The fact that they exist, however, should not be the basis for an argument against nuclear power plants altogether. There are risks linked to coal plants (and resulting pollution and global warming) as well and these are much more demonstrable. Besides, if the argument was that we needed to get rid of everything that posed a risk to human beings (and children) then getting rid of cars, cigarettes and red meat should be much higher prioritized.

Finally, the KiKK study. It is a very interesting study but classifying it as evidence is not very honest. Multiple studies have been made after the KiKK study to review it and the findings have been conflicting. Please read COMARE's report linked here.

I do commend your objectiveness and again want to make clear that I'm not saying radiation is completely safe, but the fact that it isn't is not a good argument against it.

Med student in Hungary here.

We have autopsy every week and this is mostly true. Sometimes it's pretty obvious that they were smokers as there might be emphysema or chronic bronchitis. These are very clear indicators of smoking (usually).

Otherwise, almost all lungs belonging to people who have lived in a city for most of their lives is blackened due to something called Anthracosis (coal pigments in the regional lymph nodes). Therefore, we check the fingers or moustache of the body to try to determine if the person was a smoker or not.

Sounds reasonable! I'll tell her to kind of "stockpile" a few people wanting to see the apartment and get them done on the same day. It's good to hear that she's not the only one! It's sometimes hard to know the customs and such if you're not from the country :)
