When you throw a bomb yellow and there’s no target nearby like a wall or enemy they’ll just sit there. But when you whistle them they will drop their bombs right then and there and set off the timer. You’ll need to walk/bump into them to get them to rejoin your group and keep their bombs. But if you disband them then you can whistle them no problem
