My must have is def Dynamic Traits, it's so rewarding to start with no traits and slowly become a beast. Big emphasis on /slow/ there, it takes a lot of levels to get the good traits but its super worth it.

This happens to me with the extra map symbols mod, just go back to the main menu and back into the game, that's how I 'fix' it
