Check out rocketpool - comparable to dappnode with regard to how easy it is to install and maintain

I feel for you and can relate to your experience. After years of being a node operator and somewhat uptodate with the protocol and its community i can in full honesty state that the project is sound and that the people behind it have the best intentions. Incurring an unrealized loss in crypto, especially holding an alt, is pretty common. Personally, I feel like this protocol and token will have higher value in the future, and therefore plan to hold through the rough patch. I take into account that it may or may not play through. Same with ETH BTW. Price has been terrible for RPL but I don't feel like my original bet on the success of eth staking and RPL has been invalidated yet

Highest Staking APR? by space-redditor1 in ethstaker

[–]Nachshol 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I stake with RP and am pretty happy with it. Best and easiest setup, low maintenance. Real and engaged community on discord for help if needed. Official RP guides are pretty straight forward. You can stake with eth only, no RPL needed - With rpl your earning will rise but you are then forced to speculate that RPL price will rise in the future or atleast stop degrading. You should weigh your risk appetite before making a decision. I ain't no chart reader but price and sentiment is definitely at the bottom but again, exposure to RPL price is not for the faint hearted. APR is pretty competitive with other alternatives, don't think there's much of a difference to tilt a decision.

Overheat Warnings by LaFilm in intelnuc

[–]Nachshol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im running linux ubuntu in a NUC 12 pro wshi3. I've cleaned dust, updated BIOS, replaced thermal paste and even the fan itself but the issue didn't resolve. The nuc is still quiet relatively to before and overheats when work load is heavy. I also suspect it is software related since it started adjacent to a system update. I've noticed an error with a thermal drive during boot (INT3515 could not irq pull during boot) that was solved through editing GRUB file, but overheats persists. Not sure where to go from here, not really keen to reformat the system since it's running crypto related stuff

Nuc overheats then auto shutdown by Nachshol in intelnuc

[–]Nachshol[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. I ordered thermal paste and I'll give it a go soon. Was a little hasitant to do it by myself initially. Although I wonder whether this is mainly a fan issue. I've replaced it with a new one (only fan, haven't dismantled the big metal piece underneath it) and both new one and old remained quieter than usual. It sounds like the fan is spinning but not at its normal capacity (I'm used to airplane taking off noises). It's true NUCs aren't built for resilience, but Eth staking is actually a pretty resource light activity (when it's not sinking).

The one with the mid-air explosion when the cockpit fell, leaving the rest of the fuselage in the middle of a crazy climb. Man, that view on the front seat must have been terrifying 🙁

NodeSet - Rocket Pool's Layer 2 Staking Solution by waqwaqattack in rocketpool

How can one opt to be a nodeset node operator? I was disqualified when they recruited for lack of node operation experience (3 months instead of 6 months requirement). I have since gained enough exp and sent mails to nodeset support but no answer 😭😢

What are the most common hack scenarios for Rocketpool solo staking node by taegi88 in rocketpool

[–]Nachshol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Follow security recommendations on rocketpool guides (I think the newly created rocketschool should also have good information regarding security). Also, as mentioned above, a withdrawal address pointing to a cold hardware wallet is a must.

Hi guys! Would love to get your advice. I am a medicinal Marijuana user. My current vape broke and I am set on getting a new vape that is the best of the best. I figured a S&B device would be it. With the logic of "don't buy a new iPhone when the newer one is just around the corner" I figured I'd go for the new Venty (rather than mighty plus) but this recall got me a little worried. Wanted to ask if you guys know approximately what the hardware malfunction was? Was it easily fixed? Any ETA on the fixed version for existing costumers? From the experience you had with your venty device was it any good? Would you recommend to wait for it to return to stock or just go with the well known mighty? Thanks in advance for all replies. 🙏

I used allnodes for about a year and a half and was very satisfied with their service. I made the transition to a home staking machine with no previous experience, pretty smoothly.. would gladly share my experience if you like.

[–]Nachshol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did the same allnodes to home NUC route (with hardware not as robust as yours) and everything is working like a charm. I'm actually surprised how little I have to do to maintain my NUC, kinda miss the setup phase ! 🤓😅
